1. 1. Using the website
Spanish Courses

2. 2. This is the main homepage at Global announcements for ALL users are in the center of the page.
3. 3. College Courses are listed on the left in the College Courses section of the Navigation bar. Click on Ohlone College Spanish 101A Online Independent Study to find your course homepage.
4. 4. This is the online Spanish hompage. On the left is the Navigation Bar with links to the sites you will be using. The links are in order of how you will most likely be using them.
5. 5. In the main body of the homepage is a series of explanations of each of the links in the Navigation Bar. Please review this carefully.
6. 6. Tricia Dutra
This is the awesome Tricia Dutra who is the tutor for Ohlone College Spanish. Call 510-659-6087 to set up your study session today!
7. 7. Ohlone College requires that you log into the OhloneBlackBoard Portal first in order to track your time for course credit.
Since this is a 5 unit course with a 1 hour lab, it requires that you log in a MIMNIMUM of an average of 6 hours per week. If you are following the course as I have set it up, you will have no trouble meeting this time requirement and you will, in fact, log in more than 6 hours which is appropriate since there is homework.
8. 8. After logging into BlackBoard, click on the link to the website within Blackboard. After you arrive at the homepage, click on the Course Calendar.
9. 9. This is the Horario or Course Calendar. In the Main body of this page is an explanation of how to read what is listed on each date.
10. 10. Select a month from the Navigation Bar. Click on it.
11. 11. This is October’s assignment page. Let’s look at Wednesday, October 5th.
12. 12. The first thing listed are the pages you need to read in the textbook Dicho y HechoBEFORE attempting any of the homework.
13. 13. The second item is the online lecture. This is a link to the Grammar Notes explanations regarding this topic. Sometimes it may be additional vocabulary. READ this online lecture BEFORE attempting any of the homework.
14. 14. When you go to the Online Lecture, you will see a Yellow block in the Navigation bar on the left entitled “Practice Zone.” Click on these links for more practice activities. Remember to log in using your Quia ID and Password to get time and participation credit. Again, do this BEFORE attempting any of the homework.
15. 15. The third item is a link to the homework. The specific assignments are those assigned for a grade. They correspond with that date’s particular topic. It does not necessarily mean the assignment is due that day. Check for actual due dates. The due dates are grouped once a week to allow you flexibility in pacing yourself. This calendar is a highly recommended pace, but you have to work with your own schedule.
16. 16. On days when a chapter test is assigned, the pages in the text refer to the chapter summary and self-test. I highly recommend you attempt this test to see how you do. The answers are in the back of the paper text in the Appendix.
17. 17. On days when a chapter test is assigned, the online Lecture is a link to the Challenge Board, a Jeopardy-style review game for 1 or 2 players that tests the book and the online lecture information.
18. 18. On days when a chapter test is assigned, the (flashing) Homework link is to WileyPlus where you will take the chapter test. The parameters of the test are listed: 60 minutes to complete the test. You can access this test from 6pm to 11pm on this day only. Any WileyPlus activity is available ONLY on the date it is posted.
