L a u n c h i n g Alternative Medicines Modern Diagnostic Techniques Well Balanced Diet Therapeutic Yoga 2 3 At rVita, we believe in healing all modern day lifestyle disorders and restoring your health and balance through an integrative approach. This essentially consists of alternative medicines, modern diagnostic techniques, a well balanced nutritional Diet and therapeutic Yoga. This innovative approach is gaining popularity in all clinical research systems across the world. While most forms of medicine work on symptoms, our therapies work on solutions to the root cause. Hence, we identify the root of the disease first using modern diagnostic techniques as well as alternative methods. As a part of the process, we analyse the patient’s body type using a Prakriti form - a questionnaire which helps analyze the current state of the patient’s body to bring a balance in the body Doshas, namely Vatha, Pitha and Kapha. Health Programs Offered by rVita While we provide consultation on all kinds of diseases, we focus on Disease Management Programs for the following lifestyle disorders: • Obesity • Diabetes • High Cholesterol & Hypertension • Stress Relief & Rejuvenation • Pain Management • Preventive / Wellness Programs
  3. 3. What leads to obesity? Improper eating habits such as over-eating, improper diet schedules, intake of food during indigestion etc, Day-Sleeping, absence of physical activity, excessive intake of heavy food, sweet, sour, cold and oily food (fast food, fermented food, aerated drink, ice creams, chocolates, high calorie food, etc.) and high stress levels lead to obesity. Treatment Pedagogy Ayurveda therapies, Ayurveda oral medication, Yoga & meditation stress management techniques, Diet and adherences to a daily regimen The rVita Weight Loss package Udvartanam: This Dry Powder Massage involves application of herbal powder mixed with oil/buttermilk/medicated juice. The powder, recommended for weight reduction and skin disease treatment, is rubbed upwards on the body. Yoga: Special weight reduction exercise under the supervision of Yoga experts. Ayurveda Medication: Medication prescribed by Ayurveda experts based on your specific requirements. Sweda: Helps pacify Vata and Kapha and reduces pain. Improves blood circulation. Induces lightness in the body and puts an end to spasms and stiffness. OBESITY / WEIGHT MANAGEMENT Excessive body fat is usually accumulated on the belly, buttocks, breasts and thighs. While a sedentary lifestyle is the main reason for this, obesity is the most common cause of several modern-day illnesses which could lead to diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, cardiac diseases, alleviated lipid profiles, kidney and liver disorders. According to Ayurveda, obesity is a 'Kapha' disorder called Medoroga (a disease of fatty tissues). When Kapha reaches abnormal levels, hampering the body's fat metabolism in the process, it leads to obesity. Treatment Pedagogy: Few dietary changes and lifestyle modifications. Losing weight and increasing physical activity can help reduce the chance of getting diabetes and help to control it. So the first thing is to under- stand the type of food you should be choosing according to your prakriti (bio-energy) and according to the effect of a particular food on your blood glucose levels (called Glycemic Index). Our Ayurvedic doctors guide you on this aspect. It is appropriate to include certain common herbs like Karela seeds, Jamun (seeds), etc. in you daily meal plan. As such, after ascertaining your dominant bio-energy, eating pattern and history of the ailment, a weekly diet plan is prepared. If you are overweight then you are advised to lose it and monitor it more closely. Getting diabetes at any stage puts a lot of stress due to the dietary restriction and continuous medication (or insulin shots) and know- ing about the possible consequences of the disease. Our yoga therapist will help you to develop a positive attitude towards the ailment with regular exercise and Pranayama, which help your body in a better control over the blood sugar. DIABETES Diabetes is a disease in which the body does not produce or properly use insulin - a hormone needed to convert sugar, starches into energy needed for daily life. The cause of diabetes continues to be a mystery, although both genetics and environmental factors such as obesity and lack of exercise appear to play vital roles. The early symptoms of diabetes include weakness and tiredness, weight loss, excessive urination, excessive hunger and excessive thirst. Further there could be delayed healing of wounds, itching and fungal infections. If untreated the condition may affect the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and the arteries which in turn lead to various disorders. Uncontrolled diabetes may lead to medical emergency called diabetic keto-acidosis. 4. 4. Treatment Pedagogy rVita offers two kinds of therapies – One is the Yoga and Breath Therapy. Second being a Dosha based approach. Improving your lifestyle by adoption of ethical elements mentioned in 'Achara Rasayana' is must if you really want to stay away from mental and physical stress and from eventual hypertension. It is certain that stress can cause hypertension. Anxiety, secondary to acute stage can cause rise in your blood pressure. Relaxation and removal of stress will help to lower mildly elevated levels of blood pressure. Yoga and Breath Therapy Research has now shown that regular practice of Yoga and Breath Therapy controls high blood pressure. Panchakarma: (Ayurveda detoxification therapy) Niruha basti Chikitsa: (non unctuous enema) will be beneficial in hypertension and should be given by experienced physician. Dhara therapy is also helpful in treating obstinate cases of hypertension. Oil processed with bala (sida cordifolia) and milk is allowed to drop in small droplets on the forehead of the patient. HYPERTENSION Concerns of high cholesterol An excess of cholesterol can build up in the bloodstream and accumulate on the walls of arteries. This build up is what can lead to clogged arteries and eventually to heart attacks and strokes. In fact excess cholesterol increases the risk of getting heart diseases and strokes. Cholesterol can be "bad" and "good". The "bad" cholesterol or Low-Density Lipoprotein (LDL) can clog your arteries while studies show that "good" cholesterol or High-Density Lipoprotein (HDL) can actually reduce your risk of heart disease. That's why it's essential for you to know the facts about fats, foods and other means which can reduce bad cholesterol in your blood. Treatment Pedagogy Our doctors take down and analyze your medical history and lifestyle in detail and go through your tests. They also analyze your unique bio energy (body type). Certain herbs are advised which help you to eliminate toxins from your body and strengthen your digestive system in general and liver in particular. They also plan out an easy to follow diet plan in order to make you lose excessive weight, if any, and keeping your diet low in cholesterol, and high in beneficial fibre, antioxidants, and good fats. Our yoga expert helps you to learn beneficial exercises and breathing techniques which improve assimilation of fats and unclog your arteries. Hypertension causes heart attacks, strokes, kidney failures and other disorders if it is neglected and remains untreated. In many cases, hypertension does not cause any symptoms until it causes complications such as heart attack and stroke, and plays a role of silent killer in the body. So it is important to have your blood pressure checked at regular intervals. Blood pressure is high when arterial blood pressure is elevated above the normal ranges. The normal blood pressure reading is systolic 120 over diastolic 80. Pain experienced at the back of the head and neck on waking up, which soon disappears, dizziness, palpitations, heart pain, frequent urination, nervous tension, fatigue, difficulty in Breathing Causes of Hypertension are Stress- hectic life-style, Vitiation of Vata, Smoking and an excessive intake of intoxicants, hardening of the arteries, obesity, metabolic disorders, excessive intake of common table salt, excessive consumption of fast foods HIGH CHOLESTEROL AND HYPERTENSION High Cholesterol and Hypertension Programs • 2 Free Consultations per month • 9 a.m to 9 p.m Call Centre Telephonic Support • 5% Discount on Medicines • 10% Discount on Therapies • Free One-on-One Yoga Session • Free Blood Cholesterol Test • Special Discount on Digital BP meter • Free Personalized Diet Plan • Free access to Online Patient Management System 6 Months Program: Rs. 3,500 per person 3 Months Program: Rs. 2,000 per person CHOLESTEROL Cholesterol is a sterol (a combination steroid and alcohol) and a lipid found in the cell membranes of all body tissues and transported in the blood plasma of all animals. Cholesterol is present in higher concentrations in tissues which either produce more or have more densely-packed membranes, like the liver, spinal cord and brain. Cholesterol plays a central role in many biochemical processes, but is best known for the association of cardiovascular diseases with various lipoprotein cholesterol transport patterns and high levels of cholesterol in the blood. Cholesterol is required to build and maintain cell membranes; it makes the membrane's fluidity and degree of viscosity. Cholesterol also aids in the manufacture of bile and is also important for the metabolism of fat soluble vitamins, including vitamins A, D, E and K. It is the major precursor for the synthesis of vitamin D, of the various steroid hormones, including cortisol and aldosterone in the adrenal glands, and of the sex hormones progesterone, oestrogen, and testosterone. Further recent researches show that cholesterol has an important role for the brain synapses as well as in the immune system, including protecting against cancer. 6 7

Be it the incapacitating arthritic pain or the inconveniencing recurring lower back pain. The wear and tear of sedentary lifestyles, long working hours, wrong postures and age results in degeneration of muscular health in our body. Whether they be old injuries, chronic pains or just the niggles of inactivity our expert physician design customized treatments to make the body supple, strengthen muscles and ease aches and pains. When toxins accumulate in the body, they circulate and build up in the joints. It is here that these toxins inhibit proper joint function, mobility and comfort; the end-result is arthritis, pain, loss of free movement etc. Impurities can develop faster than the body can eliminate them; cleansing alone is not enough for relief from arthritis. The key to preventing toxic build up is to create healthier cells, ones that can effectively eliminate toxins. rVita arthritis and pain management program improves digestion and metabolism, forming pure, easily assimilated nutrient plasma. This plasma lubricates and nourishes joint tissue, releasing toxins and impurities for elimination from the body. In Ayurveda, Vata is the organizing principle for the nervous system. Vata aggravation increases pain and sensitivity, therefore, balancing and stabiliz- ing Vata is an important part of rVita arthritis treatment program which includes cleanse the channels of circulation, strengthen digestion, lubricate the joints, balance nervous system function, relax the muscular system and improve the natural healing habit of the body.
