  • great that larger companies like OCE are also now getting into internal, enterprise microblogging! a good start to get ppl (refered to 'waek ties') work together! and it's great that there are not more then 5 'rules' for the ppl, too!

What is Yammer? <ul><li>Yammer is a hosted enterprise microblogging site for all Océ </li></ul><ul><li>Yammer supports you to: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>tell your colleagues what you are doing </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>ask your colleagues a question </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>… even the ones you don’t know (yet)! </li></ul></ul>

Why Yammer? <ul><li>To create a more open, transparent and connected Océ, where knowledge workers can connect freely and quickly around the globe. </li></ul><ul><li>The use of media is rapidly changing around the world. Twitter is taking off, also in the business environment. Yammer is the more secure internal version of Twitter. </li></ul><ul><li>We are currently experimenting with new media. Yammer is one of these experiments. </li></ul>
  4. 4. How to Yammer? (1) <ul><li>Go to the Yammer site and fill in your Océ-email address </li></ul><ul><li>Or: you’ll be invited to join. Then: just follow the link. </li></ul><ul><li>And you’re ready to Yammer! Go ahead and try. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes! </li></ul>
  5. 5. How to Yammer? (2) <ul><li>Fill in your profile </li></ul><ul><li>You may fill in the ‘organizational chart’. Note: the people you fill in are implicitly invited! </li></ul><ul><li>You can ‘Yammer’ by typing some text in the text box, hit ‘enter’ or click ‘Update’ </li></ul><ul><li>You can follow the update via the Yammer.com site or ‘desktop client’ (check box ‘download desktop client’ just below your profile) </li></ul>

(3) <ul><li>Make sure you ‘Follow’ the colleagues you’d like to follow. </li></ul><ul><li>Click on the colleague’s name, then click the ‘(un)follow’ button. </li></ul><ul><li>If you want to share what you are doing, or ask a question, post an update. </li></ul><ul><li>You can reply to colleagues if you want. </li></ul><ul><li>That’s it! </li></ul>

Is Yammer secure? <ul><li>Yammer is secure, but not as secure as an internal application </li></ul><ul><li>Use it as you would use your web-mail (Hotmail, Gmail) </li></ul><ul><li>Don’t drop core Océ secrets into Yammer </li></ul><ul><li>Only Océ-employees can read our Yammers </li></ul><ul><li>More security can be and will be added if this is a success </li></ul>
