If it is known who has the required knowledge, then traditional tools/methods like a face-to-face meeting or simple phone call work well. If direct contact doesn't’t work, then voice mail and e-mail can do the job. Some companies enhance this knowledge area by publishing “Who’s Who” and “Who Knows What” personnel lists (often referred to as the “Company Yellow Pages”). Properly cataloged and maintained lists of this sort can be invaluable to people needing specific knowledge. Knowledge Management
