17. 17. Lesson learned from SESP
School is the best point to enter into community level
School Earthquake Safety Program is a complete program
Construction or Strengthening the school is important and attractive
18. 18. Lesson learned from SESP
SESP provided a platform to produce/promote appropriate technology
Good practice for technology transfer/replication
Management should cover people from all level
Transparency plays vital role in community based programs
19. 19. Lesson learned from SESP
More attractive outcome are
Construction or retrofitting the school
Training the masons
Raising awareness of villagers
Teaching the children, teachers and parents what to do about earthquake preparedness
All extras come for a relative small increase in the cost of earthquake resistant construction or retrofitting
20. 20. SESP- an Ongoing Endeavor of NSET
Very Limited (42 Schools in 14 Districts Only)
Let’s Implement in All Schools
Thanks!
