Recognizing/Reading an ILL item <ul><li>Requested branch pick-up ( Arch. and Art ) </li></ul><ul><li>Transaction barcode </li></ul><ul><li>Patron name THIS BOOKSTRAP </li></ul><ul><li> SERVES TO IDENTIFY </li></ul><ul><li>ILL ITEMS BORROWED </li></ul><ul><li>BY UH ON BEHALF OF UH PATRONS. </li></ul><ul><li>IT SHOULD NOT BE REMOVED </li></ul>

To check ILL items out to patrons <ul><ul><li>Open ILLiad WebCirculation: http :// illiad.lib.uh.edu/illiad/WebCirc </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Login using your branch’s username & password </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click in the box next to the “Check Out” button </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Scan the barcode on the strap on the ILL book. (Above the patron’s name.) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A confirmation message should display at the top of the screen, reading: “Transaction 123456 was successfully checked out.” </li></ul></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul>

When a patron returns an ILL item: <ul><ul><li>Open ILLiad WebCirculation: http ://illiad.lib.uh.edu/illiad/WebCirc </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Login using your branch’s username & password </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Click in the box next to the “Mark In Transit” button </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Scan the barcode on the strap on the ILL book. (Above the patron’s name.) </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>A confirmation message should display at the top of the screen, reading: “Transaction 123456 was successfully marked as In Transit.” </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Place the item in in a red ILL bag. </li></ul></ul>

A Note on Confirmation Messages <ul><li>Should a different message </li></ul><ul><li>(other than “ successfully checked out/marked as In Transit ”) </li></ul><ul><li>appear in red type at the top of the screen, </li></ul><ul><li>there is a problem with the item in the ILL system. </li></ul><ul><li>Contact the ILL office at 3-9720 for assistance </li></ul>
