What is Good Teaching?  You Make the Call!
And now, a word from Paramount Pictures…
Was that good teaching? Obviously not… But why not? Can we quantify it? Or we simply know it when we see it?
Can we come up with a set of agreed upon standards for good teaching?
Let’s take a step back…Why do we want agreed upon standards for good teaching? Common language Shift from SUBJECTIVE to OBJECTIVE Benchmarks for success Good teaching is good teaching…across the board.
What are the general categories in evaluating effective teaching?
Some good old fashioned type 1 writing! For each of the 4 categories, select at least 3 specific behaviors that you feel best epitomize them. No right/wrong answers. 5 minutes. Work by yourselves.
Share & Reflect Turn to the person next to you and convince them why your selections are ideal. Listen to them do the same. Come up with a consensus of the top 4 behaviors in each category, and write them down in the consensus box.

  • 8. Some good old fashioned type 1 writing! For each of the 4 categories, select at least 3 specific behaviors that you feel best epitomize them. No right/wrong answers. 5 minutes. Work by yourselves.
