Learning objectives: Students will identify the differences between PowerPoint 2007, PowerPoint 2003, and earlier versions so that they can follow the 2007 slides, examples, and demonstrations in class if they have previous versions. Students will list the differences between slide view and outline view when creating PowerPoint from scratch in order to simplify creating courses and materials for presentation. Students will define the quick access toolbar and how using it can save time in creating and adjusting PowerPoint presentations. An example will be given in class and students will share their most common uses. Students will be able to list most common formatting features of PowerPoint to create unique and dynamite presentations. Students will identify steps to insert pictures, videos, and music into PowerPoint to add special effects to the PowerPoint enhancing the learning and entertainment of the presentation. Students will recite steps to add animation to slides, text, pictures, and videos to enhance learning effects of PowerPoint. Students will create notes pages for their PowerPoint presentations saving time in re-creating materials. Students will list the steps needed to create a self running PowerPoint presentation to either play at a kiosk or burn to a CD-Rom. This enables author to promote presentation without being present. Students will recognize the differences between royalty free photos and music and how to acquire them to avoid intellectual property disputes. Students will be able to recognize add on programs to PowerPoint including Snag-It and Camtasia to add special effects, graphics, and WOW factors to PowerPoint presentations.
