  5. 5. When he was 18 he became a river boat pilot. During this time he learned a lot about the Mississippi River.
  6. 6. A handful of Twain's books are written around the Mississippi River, These books show his personal enjoyment of the river.

  10. 10. In 1870 Mark married Olivia Langston in Elmira, New York.
