Research Design (Re-do) A qualitative research study toward the implementation of ICT in the field of Higher Education in Mainland, China Who are the study participants: School of business students from several Universities in Beijing Size: 50-100 target students How are they selected: Students are selected randomly from the school chosen, with girls and boys equal in amount. Why is this important topic to study <ul><li>It is expected that this research project would bring a new level of understanding toward the importance of implementing ICT in higher education field in Mainland China, and also would draw more attention from the government as well as from the society toward this issue. </li></ul><ul><li>Information Communication Technology has its amazing power when integrating into education. However, to practicing ICT integration into daily teaching and learning process is another story, especially in Mainland China. </li></ul><ul><li>If properly used, ICT could be a powerful engine for the balancing of the country’s higher education, as well as an accelerator for the improving of the education and the students’ life-long personal skills. </li></ul>
  3. 3. How will data be collected and analyzed <ul><li>Data collection: </li></ul><ul><li>Questionnaire: This is the most important data collecting method for this research. Around 100 pieces of questionnaire will be given to students and 40-70 are expected to be functionally for the research. </li></ul><ul><li>Observation: Some of the students may be observed during the process of conducting some learning tasks. The researcher will observe the IT-related behavior of the students and make notes for later analysis. </li></ul><ul><li>Interview: Around 10-15 students are supposed to participate in the interview part. They will be asked by some open questions. The entire interview will be record whether in a video or audio form, as to the students’ willingness. </li></ul><ul><li>Data analysis: </li></ul><ul><li>Answers from questionnaire will be collected and restructured. Some of the data will be presented in a matrix form for better understanding. Data from the observation and interview will be collected and paraphrased into text form. Then be analyzed for generating some insight thoughts or suggestions. </li></ul>
