1.
2. Boyz II Men is an American R&B vocal group best known for emotional
ballads and a cappella harmonies. They are the most successful R&B

The band is made up of 3 singers and these are Wanye Morris, Nathan
Morris and Shaun Stockman. There was a fourth member of the
group, Michael McCary, who had to leave the group due to chronic
back problems resulting from scoliosis.
3. The group, known originally as Unique Attraction, was
founded during 1988 at the Philadelphia High School.
Nathan Morris formed the group and asked Wanye Morris
and Shawn Stockman and bass Michael McCary to form a
group. The group would rehearse in the high school's
bathrooms, due to the excellent acoustics. They then decided
to change the name of the group to Boyz II Men.
4. Boyz II Men managed to get backstage at Bell Biv
DeVoe‟s concert where they met an aspiring record
producer Michael Bivins. On the spot, Boyz II Men
performed an acapella version of „Can You Stand The
Rain‟ to which Michael Bivins automatically was
impressed by and began plans to contract them to
Motown Records through a production deal with his
Biv Ten Records company.
5. In 1992, Boyz II Men recorded End of The Road, which is
arguably there greatest song. The rumour was they recorded
the song in under 4 hours. End Of the Road reached number 1
position on the „Billboards Hot 100‟ and broke the record by
staying there for 13 executive weeks and they had gone from
an up-and-coming R&B stars to mainstream celebrities. This
song then set the tone for the rest of their career. They
established themselves as a family act. Also, the fact that their
songs are so relatable benefits them, as it entices people to
listen to more songs.
“End Of The Road” won 2 Grammys in 1993 and they won
„Best R&B Song‟ and „Best R&B Performance By A Duo or
Group With Vocal‟

lasting at Billboards Hot 100 of 13 weeks and it made it
and stayed at the top spot for 14 weeks and has sold
over 1.6million copies in the USA.
