  3. 3. This April will make for the seventh time leaders throughout the Western Hemisphere will convene in Panama to discuss the roles of democracy, growth and security. In the past tension between the United States and Latin America has arisen due to war on drugs and the US stance on Cuba. This April should be no different in terms of putting the US government in the hot seat especially now that the current President of Cuba, Raúl Castro ,will be making an appearance.   4. 4. This conference with its 189 signatories meets every five years to discuss the use of atomic weapons across the globe. Attendees are expecting a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere compared to the 2009 conference. Tensions surrounding nuclear warfare have only escalated during the last 5 years. This year, discussions over North Korea, Israel, Iran, South Asia and Russia will be at the forefront of the conference. At a castle in the Bavarian Alps, Germany will invite other Western leaders to convene on the promotion macroeconomic coordination, the enhancement of energy security, the fight against diseases such as Ebola and the empowerment of women across the world. This summit acts as a symbol of western leaders and thinkers grouping together, showing their solidarity for the western way of life. G R O U P O F S E V E N S U M M I T
  6. 6. In mid September, New York will be brimming with the leaders of the world as they once again discuss the global fight to end poverty. The leaders will evaluate what is left to be done and examine how they have done in terms of meeting the Millennium Development Goals which were implemented in 2000.   7. 7. Following the opening of the UN General Assembly, the world leaders will meet in Antalya, Turkey. The Turkish government has expressed their intention to make the following global issues the priorities for discussion topics: climate change, energy, trade, development and investment.
