- are formed by pressing the
lower lip the upper teeth.

8. Dentals
- are formed by pressing the
tongue tip behind the upper
front teeth.

10. Alveolars
- are formed by pressing the
tip of the tongue near the
alveolar ridge.

12. Alveopalatals
- are formed by pressing the
front of the tongue near the
hard palate.

15. Velars
- are formed by pressing the
back of the tongue against the
velum.

17. Glottal
- are formed by narrowing of
the glottis so the air that
passes causes friction but does
not have sufficient vibration
to produce voice.
