My Flipped Classroom
Three Essential Components

  • Experiential and Exploratory Engagement
Begin with an experiential exercise. This is an authentic, often hands-on
learning activity that fully engages the student. Sometimes it is a lab or other
open-ended question that students explore.

 • Conceptual Connections
Students are exposed to and learn concepts touched upon during Experiential
Engagement. They are presented the information via video lecture. Students
should be active listeners and thoughtful learners. Students are encouraged to
stop the video, rewind and take notes.

 • Demonstration and Application
Students demonstrate what they learned and apply the material . Initially,
questions are discussed and then students are given a chance to use their new
knowledge to answer deeper questions.
