  1. 1. UNIT: 9 LIGHTBodies, light and heatBy:Carmen Vispo WelzenbachAngela Martinez Ros
  2. 2. 1. LIGHT We need light to see: Light moves in a straight line. Light moves very fast.
  3. 3. 2. LIGHT AND SHADOWS When light cannot travel through an object,a shadow isformed. The shadow of an object is always formed in theopposite side to the source of light
  4. 4. 3. COLOURS The light we get from the sun is called white light White light is a mixture of seven colours:red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet The primary colours are: blue red and yellow
  5. 5. MIXTURE Three mixtures of the primary coloursY + B = GR + B = VY + R = O
  6. 6. 1.BODIES AND LIGHT Transparent,translucent and opaque objects Luminous and non-luminous bodies Natural luminous bodies Artificial luminous bodies
  7. 7. 2.OBJECTSTransparentTranslucentOpaque
  8. 8. 1.LUMINOUS AND NON-LUMINOUS BODIES1) Natural luminous bodies, like the sun produce light2) Artificial luminous bodies like candle, are man-made3) Some objects are sources of light. We call themluminous bodies.4) Non-luminous bodies produce no light
  9. 9. 1.HEAT Heat goes from one body to another Conductors and insulators
  10. 10. 2.HEAT GOES FROM ONEBODY TO ANOTHER Heat goes from hot bodies to colder bodiesGamesI. Light moves in a curved / straight lineII. Light moves very fast / very slowly
  11. 11. 3.CONDUCTORS AND INSULATORS Conductors (iron, aluminium and glass) Insulators (wood and plastic)
  12. 12. 4.VOCABULARY Artificial : artificial Conductor: conductor Fast: rápido Heat: calor Insulator: aislante Light: luz Luminous: luminoso Natural: natural Prism: prisma Shadow: sombra Straight line: línea recta Translucent: translúcido Transparent: transparente White light: luz blanca
  13. 13. THE END
