(“DMCC”) is anonprofit 501c(3) public charity committed to providing financialeducation and assistance to the public.DMCC is approved by the U.S. Department of Health and UrbanDevelopment to provide housing counseling and the U.S. Trusteeof the Department of Justice to provide bankruptcy counselingand education. DMCC began operations in 1999 and is located inLighthouse Point, Florida. DMCC has been accredited by theBritish Standards Institute as compliant with ISO 9001:2008 creditcounseling standards since June 2001.

Financial EducationAt the core of DMCC’s charitable missionis the provision of free financial educationto the public and our debt managementplan clients.Education is provided free of charge viaseminars at high schools and communitycenters, a proprietary financial literacyprogram, and a vast array of online andprinted materials.

High School SeminarsDMCC travels to high schools in the South Florida areato teach students about real world financial issues thatwill educate them and assist them in making goodfinancial decisions. Since inception, DMCC has taught over 35,000 students at 73 different schools, including: Boyd Anderson Boynton Beach Western High Dillard Glades Central Ely Lake Worth Plantation

Community SeminarsDMCC conducts freeeducational seminars incommunity centers throughoutSouth Florida.We have taught people of allages about how the financialdecisions they make today canaffect them for years to come.All seminars are available inEnglish and Spanish. Seminarsare for adult education andthe homeless.

  11. 11. Educational MaterialsDMCC publishes a variety of materials in bothEnglish and Spanish that contain timely and usefuleducational information. All materials are providedfree of charge either online, by email or in print. Newsletters Handbooks Brochures Videos Financial Articles

Personal Budget CounselingDMCC Certified Credit Counselors provide freepersonal budget counseling to consumers fromacross the United States. All counselors independently trained and certified. Written counseling report with net worth & budget analysis and recommendations provided. Debt Management Plans recommended only if beneficial to consumer. In 2011 approximately 11,400 consumersreceived free budget counseling from DMCC
  13. 13. Debt Management PlansDebt Management Plans (DMP) provide qualifiedconsumers concessions from their unsecuredcreditors to assist them in the repayment of theiraccounts. DMCC charges consumers fees forservicing DMPs based on federal and stateregulations. Creditors also contribute funds toDMCC for providing this service to their accountholders.*The DMP fees and contributions providefunding for DMCC’s free counseling andeducation programs.
