Parts of Speech: Definitions <ul><li>NOUN: A word that names a person, place, thing, or idea . </li></ul><ul><li>Verb: A word that expresses action, being or condition . </li></ul><ul><li>Adjective: A word that modifies / adds meaning / describes a noun or a pronoun. </li></ul><ul><li>Adverb: A word that modifies / adds meaning / describes a verb, an adjective or another verb. </li></ul>
