First Day Of School Summary
While the change of integrating schools. R.V. Cassill wrote relating to his feelings during that
time. The First Day of School was wrote by R.V. Cassill and he writes about an African American
family that struggles with getting into an all white school. John Hawkins emotions were developed
in R.V. Cassill's story that brought out the act of his family, school, and the fighting going on
around him. John's family affects his emotions in the text. John's sister made him wonder why,"
Audrey's not even down yet." So, now he is questionable on why she is taking longer than normal.
The other reason is that his mother is being very bold when she talks. He knows this because she
said a lot of things in a stout tone. John also has a lot of emotions

We all have different kinds of the first day of school experiences, but for every student, I feel that
stepping into the first day of school as a freshman would mark as the most memorable day in all
high school years. Before the first day of school, I quickly thought that my freshman year would turn
into the toughest and saddest year in my experience. My best friend would not attend the same high
school with me, which already gives me many conclusions of how sad and hard of a school year it
would result. However, maybe things will turn out differently than we think if we just change
something about our way of living it.
Red lights, traffic lines, students walking or dragging, I could hardly tell. Today marks the day of
my first day of high school without my best friend who may not connect to me blood–relatively but
a family in my heart. I thought to myself, what if I can't find any of my friends? What if I can't find
any of my classes? What if everything doesn't turn out the way I want it to? Anxiety and panic roll in
my body as soon as my mom stopped the car. I hesitated to open the car door, making little
movements to even try to get out the car. I waved goodbye and shut the door closed so lightly that I
think my mom had to properly shut it again. As I make my way to the front entrance with the gated
black fence that shines so dimly, I looked up randomly at the sky, noticing that the clouds appeared
very cloudy and immediately assumed that the rain will start sprinkling

Essay on The First Day of School
The alarm clock buzzed loudly beside my ear. Feeling like a gong that was being hit repeatedly
was placed right beside my head. I sluggishly pulled myself out of my bed and dragged myself to
my closet. The words, first day of school moaned ghastly in my head. Summer was uneventful and
school was just going to be hell. I picked out an old, worn out flannel and a pair of jeans to wear.
Not rushing at all, I struggled to put the raggedy clothes on. They smelt like horrendous lies and
rumors. Exactly what this state and my school are built on. The kitchen was empty, signaling that I
was the only one awake. I looked in the fridge for breakfast, and found one egg and 6 mini sausages
left. After staring at the almost empty fridge, I kept a...show more content...
I ignore the fact that my beast of a brother just stole some of the only edible food in the house, and
decide to finish whatever else it is that needs to get done before school. After I take out the trash
and get the mail Dad is awake, getting ready for his job at a Dollar General close by. We share our
good mornings and then he asks the question I hoped would never come up.
"How are going to get to school this morning?" Acknowledging that David has already left. I blank,
and my face turns pale. There's no way I'm riding the bus. Not with that... thing could possibly be on
it. Dad looks at me intently, noticing that I look a bit grim, he offers a ride.
"No Dad, you need to get to work. I'll just hold you back."
"You sure? I don't mind."
"Yes, you should really get going... I'll think of something." I assure him, and with that he nods,
smiles, and says goodbye. I decide I might as well leave too and I pick up my bag and just walk to
school. The sun rise fills the sky with a beautiful orange and dark purple. I walk past a pool shack, a
bank, a 7–11, a Hardees, a Vet Office, and soon enough crossing guards are letting me move across
the busy road to walk the long sidewalk to Deep Creek High School. A school filled with endearing,
beautiful, smart teenagers... Sike. This school is terrible and what's even worse is the people.
They're all shallow rednecks and stupid, unsophisticated, trashy, teen girls. No one here is worth

My First School Day Of 11th Grade Essay
Red–Not So Terrifying After All
I used to be very reluctant to write essays in English because it was hard for me to express my
ideas in my second language, and it is easy to make mistakes. I was afraid of making mistakes, but
the more I was afraid the more mistakes I made, forming an endless loop. Mr. Wang, my high
English school teacher, broke the loop by showing that making errors is not terrifying and by
building my confidence through the process of correcting errors.
My first impression of Mr. Wang was not so good. It was the first school day of 11th grade. I
remember it was a sticky summer afternoon, and the air was heavy and sweltering. Given the
other courses I was taking, only Mr. Wang's class fit in my schedule. While walking towards the
classroom, I thought I was so unfortunate because Mr. Wang was known for his strict teaching and
his preference for giving low grades. After crossing a narrow corridor, I found my classroom, a
small room with no windows and no AC. After I found a seat, a man in a white shirt that had a
turned little bit yellow in front of chest came into the classroom. He stared at us through his thick,
fogged glasses for a while. After combing his greasy hair, he said, "Good afternoon everyone, my
name is Wang and I will be yourwriting teacher." Then he started teaching. In that small room, I felt
I was suffocating and his voice made me drowsy. I doubted his teaching ability. "Tony," I heard.
Suddenly he called my name.

The First Day Of School Essay
The first day of school has the major influence on the way an individual will eventually turn out in
the future. Many actions have occurred in my life long ago; some fail to recall, and some I still
clearly remember. I was going into my first school in America. I had moved from Kenya a long
distance from the USA in order to link with my family, who had been here for almost 4 years,
expecting America would help my future. My father told me It would be better if I go to school here,
so I registered in the local high school in my city. I was frightened how I would do in school as I
have never been to school in the US before. First, I met new people with different cultures; second
it was a whole new experience for me in which success depended on me, and third it was the first
day that I went to school in the US. Finally, I won't forget it very easily because lots of things were
accomplished in my first day at school.
On the first day, I went to my following period after I had missed my first period because I came
to school late and also I was looking for my first period class. I was already confused because in
Kenya the teachers shift according to periods although most of the students have the same periods.
In Kenya you stay in one classroom, and the teacher will come to you in the class; They do not
have special classrooms. With nervousness on one hand and fear on the other, I reached for the
door handle of my second class, opening it bit by bit. As I have entered the

Personal Narrative : My First Day At School
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! My digital clock struck 7:00, my light turned on, and I got ready. "Oh, it's
my first day of second grade," I remembered while putting on my hat. The sun was shining through
my bedroom window, lighting up the corners of the room. This is 2011 in September and I was
ready for my first day of second grade. I walked out of my room, seeing my entire family arisen from
their peaceful slumber. I sat down at the table, pouring in a bowl of Kix and scarfing them down like
I haven't eaten in days. Once everyone was done getting ready for school, my mom driven me,
Caiden, Aaron, and Moriah to school. I was back at Barker Elementary as a second grader. I couldn't

I thought that third time's the charm. I saw people playing hand ball. I thought that I'd be good at
this. Waited in line until it was my turn. I served the ball. I threw it. My opponent countered with
his hit. I tried to hit it, but my swing missed. The ball bounced twice. I was out. I have no activity,
with no friends, and no new life. After the end of recess and another session of S.C.H.O.O.L. (Six
Cruel Hours Of Our Lives), It was time for lunch. I brung a corn dog, a Wild Cherry Capri–Sun,
applesauce, and 2 Oreos. I sat at where all the other 2nd graders were (that was when I noticed
that each grade has their own assigned seating). I was quiet when I got to the table to sit down. I
was a little shy due to my weak ability of playing with physical contact. I heard other second
graders talking to each other about things that they liked. I didn't bother, I stayed quiet while
eating my food for the rest of the time during lunch. Once school ended, I waited in car line for
my mom to pick me up. I was picked up from a white prius. I was heading home. "So, how was
your first day of school, "my mom asked. I was still quiet like a toy with no squeaker. Once I got
home I went to my room and got on my tablet, which was on my night stand charging. I unplugged it
and played Angry Birds. When it was 5:00, it was time to got to my grandparents' church.
Once we got to MEFC (Mission Ebenezer Family Church), I asked my grandmother a question,

the first days of school Essay
In this first unit of The First Days of School, Harry Wong presents three characteristics of an
effective teacher. The three characteristics are: has good classroom management skills, teaches for
mastery, and has positive expectations for student success. The effective teacher exhibits positive
expectations for all students. Having positive expectations simply means that the teacher believes in
the student and that the student can learn. Students will live up to the expectations you set, and to
be effective– your expectations should be positive for all students. The effective teacher establishes
good classroom management techniques. Classroom Management is practices and procedures that a
teacher uses to maintain an environment in which...show more content...
It is important to find a mentor who is supportive. Being the new kid on the block it is imperative
to work in a collegial manner with all your colleagues. I like the "beg, borrow, and steal!" concept
because as new teachers there is no way to walk into a classroom fully equipped–therefore if you see
a teacher doing something you resonate with steal it. In my personal opinion there are no original
ideas in the universe–just original ways to implement an idea. Some of the networking tools that
Wong discusses are joining a professional organization and/or subscribing to a professional
publication, or joining a listserv on the Internet. I agree with Wong when he says that new teachers
should do their job with the same enthusiasm that they would expect from their students. The one
area where I would take issue with Mr. Wong is that learning should not be fun. I strongly
disagree. The most powerful learning experiences of my childhood, and indeed my adult life, were
captured and retained through the spirit of fun. I believe that there is a way to make learning fun
and compel student's to want to learn. My heart breaks when I read lines like, "You go to school to
work, study and produce." There is nothing compelling for student or teacher in that statement.
School can be a place of wonder, amazement, delight, escape and yes–even fun! I agree that study
and learning are the

My First Day Of An American School
Topic: My first day in an American school
Specific Purpose: To tell a story about the my experience in the United States school system compare
to the Jamaican school system.
Thesis Statement: We should appreciate what we have before we lose it because the grass is not
always greener on the other side.
I.Introduction
a.After living in Jamaica for 15 years and 9 months, I went to live with my mother in Central Islip in
Long Island New York. It was sad to leave behind all my friends and my oldschool, but this would
be a fresh start to find new friends and to go to a new school.
b.I was very excited to start my new school after seeing how cool school seemed on TV. The no
school uniform, having lockers, walking out of class when the bell rung even is the teacher is still
talking and school buses. School seemed like a dreamland on TV compare to the strict school I was
leaving.
I. Main point 1
a.my school was just a 6 minute walk for my house so I didn't get to experience the school bus
ride. My little sister who went to school in America all her life, helped me map out how to get to
my first three classes on a school map they gave me during registration.when I walked through the
big glass doors, my mood went from being excited to nervous. The main hallway was a big circle
and you had to walk in one direction during the period changes. I was overwhelmed by the 100s of
kids in the hallway. I was use to outdoor open space door back at my old school with

Descriptive Essay On The First Day Of School
First Day Of School
It's school time again! You're probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over.
Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things:
new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these "new" worries only stick
around for a little while. Let's find out more about going back to school.
When teachers do the talking on the first day, they often go over classroom rules so you'll know
what's allowed and what's not. Pay close attention so you'll know if you need to raise your hand to
ask a question and what the rules are about visiting the restroom.
You might already know a lot of kids in your classes on the first day. But it's a great day to make a
new friend, so try to say hello to kids you know and new ones that you don't. Make the first move
and you'll be glad you did and so will your new friend!
Sixth grade often signals a move to middle school or junior high, where you'll find lockers and
maybe a homeroom. This is just what it sounds like – a classroom you'll go to each morning, kind of
like your home in the school. In middle school, you might move from classroom to classroom for
each subject. Your teachers know that this is a big change from elementary school and will help you
adjust.
Most teachers let you pick your own seat on the first day, but by the second or third morning, they'll
have mapped out a seating plan. At first, it's a good idea to write down where your

First week of high school Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This
is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school
behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year. This one is
different though, it's the first week of high school. Most freshmen like me that enter the school are
scared. I think the first week of the school is the easiest since there would not be a lot of
homework and what you need to do is to listen to what you need for the class and know other
people well in the class. But I am wrong, as soon as you get seated on your assigned seat, new

My First Day Of Elementary Essay
I am who I am. Not every kid gets to have that almost perfect childhood. You know what I am
talking about, the one where both your parents are happily married, your siblings are your best
friends, you make it all the way through the first day of elementary to the end of high school with
the same school, same set of friends, same neighbors, same homey house, and the same lifestyle.
Those who can say they have nothing but happy memories and great experiences from their
childhoods. I unfortunately, was not one of those kids. As a child, I had no choice but to do and
say and go wherever I was told with no control nor opinion. I lived through many things growing
up which all have taken part in the person I am today. My parents divorced not too long after I
was born, I moved constantly from place to place, and I did not make the best of choices growing
up which affected me greatly. Nevertheless, my childhood has shaped me into who I am today and
even though it was not perfect, I am still great full for it all. I would not change a thing about it. I
would love to say that both my mother and my father were still happily married and together to this
day, but that would be a lie. I was about the age of 3 when my parents got separated. I grew up with
my father more than I did with my mother. I did not see my mother again for quite some time and
when I did there was always constant change. I grew up not knowing what they had been like when
they were together. I heard stories

My First Day At School Essay
On my first day of middle school I ecstatically jumped out of my bed as my alarm blared in my ears.
I put on my clothes I set out the day prior and ran downstairs to get my things for school. I
remember being so excited I was completely ready for school half an hour before I needed to be. It
all fell apart as I got to the bus. I suddenly became really nervous and was happy to have one of my
best friends, Jasmine at the bus stop with me. Once we got to school, I opened my locker (after a few
attempts I might add.) and put everything but my binder inside. Surprisingly, Jasmine had the
locker one over but below mine. I had put my schedule in the glossy front of my binder. I checked
for my first class (reading and writing) and the room number and walked down the hall. Once I got
to the class I went to find my seat. It was easy because the teacher had put the seating chart on the
board through the document camera. I found my seat and sat down putting my large and empty
binder on the desk in front of me. I was completely clueless there was a morning time where
students could go hangout with friends and go to classrooms to finish missing assignments and eat
breakfast at school. So I sat there almost a full half hour doing nothing. Well, almost nothing. I had
a friend who was sitting next to me who also didn't know the mourning period. She was different
though, we were almost related once. After first and second period there was my math class. And

not everything will go as planned. Your new and old students will have some things in common.

and you're already wide awake by the time your alarm, was supposed to go off, but it didn't You
start getting ready, hair, face, outfit. Oh and speaking of outfits, you probably have yours planned
out a month before school started. You have to walk to the bus stop and when your bus arrives you
are in shock, it is full of kids from every grade possible, it's a mixing bowl, a bit of freshman, with 2
teaspoons of sophomores and a cup of junior and a little sprinkle of seniors. You scan it to see if your
friends are on the bus but as usual, you are a loner so you sit in the 3 row. Your first mistake
happened already, you sat in the boys' section and soon later, you realize your mistake, so you just
slowly go to the girls' section hoping no one realized it.
At first, you will walk into the gym everything looked new and shiny. You can see your reflection

First Day of Secondary School – Original Writing I was so excited yet so terrified at the thought of
my first day in secondary school. It felt much to me like my first day as an adult, the first day I
ever felt grown up. As I packed my spanking new bag full of spanking new pens and pencils, I
couldn't help but think would all the rumours about head flushing, bullying and heaps upon heaps
of homework be true? I guess I was about to find out. Sporting my smart new navy blazer, white

Everyone instantaneously sat down like a dog obeying its owner, as Mr King gave us the
instructions for the day. After about fifteen minutes of worthless gibberish, we went on to our first
lessons. The corridors were like a swarming maze. Everyone was crammed in, grabbing on to
people's bags so they wouldn't be pushed over. Finally after taking a few wrong turnings we found
the right class and sat in our friendship groups. This lesson was maths, and we watched one of those
mind–numbing educational videos. Our teacher, Mrs Branfield had a strong Somerset accent, and
was a nice teacher. She wasn't too strict but she had the class under control. I was good at maths
back then, so it soon became one of my favourite subjects. I was entered into the Maths Challenge
that year, and came out with a Bronze certificate, which was good for my year. Our first lesson sped
past and we now were on the mission to find our next class. I was on my own now as no one I knew
was in my D.T class. I asked the teacher where my next classroom was, and finally found it after
following some kids I recognised from my last lesson. When I found the class I went and sat with
a girl I didn't know. We were told the projects we'd be making that year which was a drawing
board and an alarm, both of which didn't turn out too good. This lesson too sped past and next was
my first recess. Recess was the chance

First Day Of School Essay
It was the first day of school for Lilo Smith and it was very hot since it was one of the last days of
summer. Lilo was very nervous since she did not know anyone. She walked through the front doors
of the school slouched and looked at the ground the whole time until she reached her first class. She
went to one of the desk in the back of the classroom and stayed to herself. Many students looked at
her but no one put forth an effort to talk to her. The bell rung and class was about to start. The
teacher walked into the room and so did another girl. The girl came all the way back to the desk
Lilo was sitting at and told her to move. Lilo did not move she stayed seated and waited for the
teacher to look back and see what was going on. The teacher told the girl to go find another seat,
so the girl gave Lilo a dirty look and went and found another seat. After that everyone had to go
around the room and say their name and at least one thing they did that summer. The girl that was
rude to Lilo was named Mindy, she talked about how her parents took her to Paris. A boy that sat
in front of Lilo named Jake talked about how he got to spend all summer at the beach. When it
was Lilo's turn she stated her name then didn't know what else to say because all she did all
summer was move. Class ended and everyone rushed out the door, except for Lilo. She packed up
her belongings very slowly and walked out the door. Jake was waiting for her outside the classroom,

Essay about school days
Now that I am coming to the end of high school and to the beginning of my college education, it
scares me to death. Going to school has been one of my biggest priorities and the most routine part
of my life for the past thirteen years. I have many more years to get through, but the years that I
spent in elementary school and junior high were the most memorable. I have learned so much since
then, it has made me a different person today. I have so many memories from my earlier years in
school. I especially remember how much easier it was back then and how much harder it is
becoming now as I get older.

Especially since I would always get in trouble for it. For some reason I do not remember much about
first grade. I do not know if it was because it was just a boring year of school or because I just did
not like the teacher. One thing I do remember about first grade is that I won the spelling bee. That
was a big accomplishment for me in first grade. I think the challenge of first grade was the whole
reading concept. Learning how to read is very difficult for a little six year old. I was actually very
good at reading, which made me enjoy first grade a little more. I am just glad that it is over with.
When I was in second grade it was a big year for me. The main reason is because I made my First
Holy Communion. My family is very religious and they were very proud of me for making my
Communion. My teacher in second grade was Mrs. Lignowski. She was an old women, but she
was very nice. The main subject in second grade was of course religion, so it was not very
exciting was a child, but it means a lot in my life now. We would take many trips across the street
to the church and practice what we would do in a mass. I remember being absolutely terrified to
make a confession with Father Hanley. That was part of making your first Communion so we had
to do it. I of course did not confess my sins face–to–face, so I went in the confessional booth. It is
done and over with now, it still kind of makes me nervous if I were to do it to this day.

My First Day Of School Essay
The first day of school is nerve–wracking for most people, for me, the first day was especially
terrifying. The first day of a college class is probably more crazy than all others. My mom and
younger sister, Michaela, were busy taking pictures as I attempted to run out of the door. After
being homeschooled for the last six years, I knew it would be a much different experience. I had
been in my room alone doing school; I was content with where I was. The morning of the first day
of class, I was so busy that I didn't have time to be nervous. However, as I ran out the door, my heart
rate elevated to a pace of 138 bpm. I felt older, nervous, excited, and anxious as I left for Pellissippi.
Although it had been six years since I had been in a classroom, I realized that all of my worry was for
nothing once I walked into Ms. Brown's class.
The summer after I completed the 6th grade, my parents decided to pull me out of my Baptist,
private school and homeschool me. I, like most kids, was not thrilled with the decision, but being
only 11 years old, I had no say in the matter. Despite my initial reservations, being homeschooled
was a great experience for me, but I began to get bored. I missed seeing people every day. It was just
me and my family. I was ready for a new experience, something big, and college was exactly what I
was looking for. It was Sunday night, and there was a high probability that class would be cancelled.
I prayed that that wouldn't happen, however, it did. The

So, I don't actually like taking about this one expirience due to how I get all sad and broken inside
once the subject is brought up once and a while by some non–autistic like me wanting to either get
on my nerves, or just needs to complete their assignment for their current class. And thanks to
many, many people that I've known that have pressured me to explain the aftermath of this
incident, I said that I'll give in to that once that certain time comes. And that time is now. My father
was (and still is) a rough and tumble workaholic that still has time to visit his children's birthday
party after a fairly short day of work. My mother is a hard working individual occasionally jumping
from job–to–job, who is slightly over protective for her own seeds gettling a hard earned life. My
siblings only seem to care only about themselves and only themselves. The friends I currently
have seem just about as protective about the people they really like as much as they are to
themselves. So, this was pretty much a first when it came to the very first day of school at
Wheaton Woods elementary. First class, total nightmare, almost non of the other five to six year
olds such as me didn't know what to do or what to expect when it came to such a raggity old
building with even older staff members, we were throwing shottily made rockets out of legos at
eachother, talk fights about who gets what, drawings made from pens and cheap crayons, all of the
sort. The first asignment we were told to do

It was the middle of August. I was wearing a floral sundress, and my hair was bleach blonde,
pulled back with two flower printed barrett's. I was excited to make new friends, yet nervous I
would hate every second of it. My first day of kindergarten at Davenport Elementary began my
long journey of elementary school. During kindergarten I learned the alphabet, how to tie my
shoe, and how to make friends. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Kaufman and all of my friends
that lived near me were in my class, and I was so excited. Unfortunately, within the first day, all of
my friends were moved to another class because our class was too big. I was devastated, but this did
not stop me from making other friends. In Mrs. Kaufman's class we learned the alphabet by
creating special days for each letter in the alphabet. My favorite day was pajama day because I could
feel comfortable all day. Although there were highlights, I often tried to go home sick so I would
not have to be at school. I would complain of a stomach ache weekly even if I did not have one.
Eventually that went away and I rolled into first grade. For first grade I had Mr. Hewitt, who was a
new teacher, but I the teacher I was hoping to get was Mr. Garber because his room was western
themed. At the time I loved horses and thought it would be cool to be part of his class. I realized
Mr. Hewitt's class was not all that bad, and even had a crush on him for the longest time. For most of
first grade I was friends with a girl

  • 1. First Day Of School Summary While the change of integrating schools. R.V. Cassill wrote relating to his feelings during that time. The First Day of School was wrote by R.V. John's sister made him wonder why," Audrey's not even down yet." So, now he is questionable on why she is taking longer than normal. The other reason is that his mother is being very bold when she talks. He knows this because she said a lot of things in a stout tone. • 2. We all have different kinds of the first day of school experiences, but for every student, I feel that stepping into the first day of school as a freshman would mark as the most memorable day in all high school years. Before the first day of school, I quickly thought that my freshman year would turn into the toughest and saddest year in my experience. My best friend would not attend the same high school with me, which already gives me many conclusions of how sad and hard of a school year it would result. However, maybe things will turn out differently than we think if we just change something about our way of living it. Red lights, traffic lines, students walking or dragging, I could hardly tell. Today marks the day of my first day of high school without my best friend who may not connect to me blood–relatively but a family in my heart. I thought to myself, what if I can't find any of my friends? What if I can't find any of my classes? What if everything doesn't turn out the way I want it to? Anxiety and panic roll in my body as soon as my mom stopped the car. I hesitated to open the car door, making little movements to even try to get out the car. I waved goodbye and shut the door closed so lightly that I think my mom had to properly shut it again. As I make my way to the front entrance with the gated black fence that shines so dimly, I looked up randomly at the sky, noticing that the clouds appeared very cloudy and immediately assumed that the rain will start sprinkling Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Essay on The First Day of School The alarm clock buzzed loudly beside my ear. Feeling like a gong that was being hit repeatedly was placed right beside my head. I sluggishly pulled myself out of my bed and dragged myself to my closet. The words, first day of school moaned ghastly in my head. Summer was uneventful and school was just going to be hell. I picked out an old, worn out flannel and a pair of jeans to wear. Not rushing at all, I struggled to put the raggedy clothes on. They smelt like horrendous lies and rumors. Exactly what this state and my school are built on. The kitchen was empty, signaling that I was the only one awake. I looked in the fridge for breakfast, and found one egg and 6 mini sausages left. After staring at the almost empty fridge, I kept a...show more content... I ignore the fact that my beast of a brother just stole some of the only edible food in the house, and decide to finish whatever else it is that needs to get done before school. After I take out the trash and get the mail Dad is awake, getting ready for his job at a Dollar General close by. We share our good mornings and then he asks the question I hoped would never come up. "How are going to get to school this morning?" Acknowledging that David has already left. I blank, and my face turns pale. There's no way I'm riding the bus. Not with that... thing could possibly be on it. Dad looks at me intently, noticing that I look a bit grim, he offers a ride. "No Dad, you need to get to work. I'll just hold you back." "You sure? I don't mind." "Yes, you should really get going... I'll think of something." I assure him, and with that he nods, smiles, and says goodbye. I decide I might as well leave too and I pick up my bag and just walk to school. The sun rise fills the sky with a beautiful orange and dark purple. I walk past a pool shack, a bank, a 7–11, a Hardees, a Vet Office, and soon enough crossing guards are letting me move across the busy road to walk the long sidewalk to Deep Creek High School. A school filled with endearing, beautiful, smart teenagers... Sike. This school is terrible and what's even worse is the people. They're all shallow rednecks and stupid, unsophisticated, trashy, teen girls. No one here is worth Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 4. My First School Day Of 11th Grade Essay Red–Not So Terrifying After All I used to be very reluctant to write essays in English because it was hard for me to express my ideas in my second language, and it is easy to make mistakes. I was afraid of making mistakes, but the more I was afraid the more mistakes I made, forming an endless loop. Mr. Wang, my high English school teacher, broke the loop by showing that making errors is not terrifying and by building my confidence through the process of correcting errors. My first impression of Mr. Wang was not so good. It was the first school day of 11th grade. I remember it was a sticky summer afternoon, and the air was heavy and sweltering. Given the other courses I was taking, only Mr. Wang's class fit in my schedule. While walking towards the classroom, I thought I was so unfortunate because Mr. Wang was known for his strict teaching and his preference for giving low grades. After crossing a narrow corridor, I found my classroom, a small room with no windows and no AC. After I found a seat, a man in a white shirt that had a turned little bit yellow in front of chest came into the classroom. He stared at us through his thick, fogged glasses for a while. After combing his greasy hair, he said, "Good afternoon everyone, my name is Wang and I will be yourwriting teacher." Then he started teaching. In that small room, I felt I was suffocating and his voice made me drowsy. I doubted his teaching ability. "Tony," I heard. Suddenly he called my name. • 5. The First Day Of School Essay The first day of school has the major influence on the way an individual will eventually turn out in the future. Many actions have occurred in my life long ago; some fail to recall, and some I still clearly remember. I was going into my first school in America. I had moved from Kenya a long distance from the USA in order to link with my family, who had been here for almost 4 years, expecting America would help my future. My father told me It would be better if I go to school here, so I registered in the local high school in my city. I was frightened how I would do in school as I have never been to school in the US before. First, I met new people with different cultures; second it was a whole new experience for me in which success depended on me, and third it was the first day that I went to school in the US. Finally, I won't forget it very easily because lots of things were accomplished in my first day at school. On the first day, I went to my following period after I had missed my first period because I came to school late and also I was looking for my first period class. I was already confused because in Kenya the teachers shift according to periods although most of the students have the same periods. In Kenya you stay in one classroom, and the teacher will come to you in the class; They do not have special classrooms. With nervousness on one hand and fear on the other, I reached for the door handle of my second class, opening it bit by bit. As I have entered the Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 6. Personal Narrative : My First Day At School BEEP, BEEP, BEEP! My digital clock struck 7:00, my light turned on, and I got ready. "Oh, it's my first day of second grade," I remembered while putting on my hat. The sun was shining through my bedroom window, lighting up the corners of the room. This is 2011 in September and I was ready for my first day of second grade. I walked out of my room, seeing my entire family arisen from their peaceful slumber. I sat down at the table, pouring in a bowl of Kix and scarfing them down like I haven't eaten in days. Once everyone was done getting ready for school, my mom driven me, Caiden, Aaron, and Moriah to school. I was back at Barker Elementary as a second grader. I couldn't wait to see my new classroom. I arrived to school at 8:15, class...show more content... I thought that third time's the charm. I saw people playing hand ball. I thought that I'd be good at this. Waited in line until it was my turn. I served the ball. I threw it. My opponent countered with his hit. I tried to hit it, but my swing missed. The ball bounced twice. I was out. I have no activity, with no friends, and no new life. After the end of recess and another session of S.C.H.O.O.L. (Six Cruel Hours Of Our Lives), It was time for lunch. I brung a corn dog, a Wild Cherry Capri–Sun, applesauce, and 2 Oreos. I sat at where all the other 2nd graders were (that was when I noticed that each grade has their own assigned seating). I was quiet when I got to the table to sit down. I was a little shy due to my weak ability of playing with physical contact. I heard other second graders talking to each other about things that they liked. I didn't bother, I stayed quiet while eating my food for the rest of the time during lunch. Once school ended, I waited in car line for my mom to pick me up. I was picked up from a white prius. I was heading home. "So, how was your first day of school, "my mom asked. I was still quiet like a toy with no squeaker. Once I got home I went to my room and got on my tablet, which was on my night stand charging. I unplugged it and played Angry Birds. When it was 5:00, it was time to got to my grandparents' church. • 7. the first days of school Essay In this first unit of The First Days of School, Harry Wong presents three characteristics of an effective teacher. The three characteristics are: has good classroom management skills, teaches for mastery, and has positive expectations for student success. The effective teacher exhibits positive expectations for all students. Having positive expectations simply means that the teacher believes in the student and that the student can learn. Students will live up to the expectations you set, and to be effective– your expectations should be positive for all students. The effective teacher establishes good classroom management techniques. Classroom Management is practices and procedures that a teacher uses to maintain an environment in which...show more content... It is important to find a mentor who is supportive. Being the new kid on the block it is imperative to work in a collegial manner with all your colleagues. I like the "beg, borrow, and steal!" concept because as new teachers there is no way to walk into a classroom fully equipped–therefore if you see a teacher doing something you resonate with steal it. In my personal opinion there are no original ideas in the universe–just original ways to implement an idea. Some of the networking tools that Wong discusses are joining a professional organization and/or subscribing to a professional publication, or joining a listserv on the Internet. I agree with Wong when he says that new teachers should do their job with the same enthusiasm that they would expect from their students. The one area where I would take issue with Mr. Wong is that learning should not be fun. I strongly disagree. The most powerful learning experiences of my childhood, and indeed my adult life, were captured and retained through the spirit of fun. I believe that there is a way to make learning fun and compel student's to want to learn. My heart breaks when I read lines like, "You go to school to work, study and produce." There is nothing compelling for student or teacher in that statement. School can be a place of wonder, amazement, delight, escape and yes–even fun! I agree that study and learning are the Get more content on HelpWriting.net

My First Day Of An American School Topic: My first day in an American school Specific Purpose: To tell a story about the my experience in the United States school system compare to the Jamaican school system. Thesis Statement: We should appreciate what we have before we lose it because the grass is not always greener on the other side. I.Introduction a.After living in Jamaica for 15 years and 9 months, I went to live with my mother in Central Islip in Long Island New York. It was sad to leave behind all my friends and my oldschool, but this would be a fresh start to find new friends and to go to a new school. b.I was very excited to start my new school after seeing how cool school seemed on TV. The no school uniform, having lockers, walking out of class when the bell rung even is the teacher is still talking and school buses. School seemed like a dreamland on TV compare to the strict school I was leaving. I. Main point 1 a.my school was just a 6 minute walk for my house so I didn't get to experience the school bus ride. My little sister who went to school in America all her life, helped me map out how to get to my first three classes on a school map they gave me during registration.when I walked through the big glass doors, my mood went from being excited to nervous. The main hallway was a big circle and you had to walk in one direction during the period changes. I was overwhelmed by the 100s of kids in the hallway. • 9. Descriptive Essay On The First Day Of School First Day Of School It's school time again! You're probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these "new" worries only stick around for a little while. Let's find out more about going back to school. When teachers do the talking on the first day, they often go over classroom rules so you'll know what's allowed and what's not. Pay close attention so you'll know if you need to raise your hand to ask a question and what the rules are about visiting the restroom. You might already know a lot of kids in your classes on the first day. But it's a great day to make a new friend, so try to say hello to kids you know and new ones that you don't. Make the first move and you'll be glad you did and so will your new friend! Sixth grade often signals a move to middle school or junior high, where you'll find lockers and maybe a homeroom. This is just what it sounds like – a classroom you'll go to each morning, kind of like your home in the school. In middle school, you might move from classroom to classroom for each subject. Your teachers know that this is a big change from elementary school and will help you adjust. Most teachers let you pick your own seat on the first day, but by the second or third morning, they'll have mapped out a seating plan. At first, it's a good idea to write down where your Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 10. My First Week Of High School Essays First week of high school Fun, scaring, exciting are the feelings of my first week of school. This is a brand new experience of my life having to leave my friends and teachers in middle school behind. New school, new friends and new teachers are all part of this new school year. This one is different though, it's the first week of high school. Most freshmen like me that enter the school are scared. I think the first week of the school is the easiest since there would not be a lot of homework and what you need to do is to listen to what you need for the class and know other people well in the class. But I am wrong, as soon as you get seated on your assigned seat, new teachers start to introduce themselves and start giving tons...show more content... • 11. My First Day Of Elementary Essay I am who I am. Not every kid gets to have that almost perfect childhood. You know what I am talking about, the one where both your parents are happily married, your siblings are your best friends, you make it all the way through the first day of elementary to the end of high school with the same school, same set of friends, same neighbors, same homey house, and the same lifestyle. Those who can say they have nothing but happy memories and great experiences from their childhoods. I unfortunately, was not one of those kids. As a child, I had no choice but to do and say and go wherever I was told with no control nor opinion. I lived through many things growing up which all have taken part in the person I am today. My parents divorced not too long after I was born, I moved constantly from place to place, and I did not make the best of choices growing up which affected me greatly. Nevertheless, my childhood has shaped me into who I am today and even though it was not perfect, I am still great full for it all. I would not change a thing about it. I would love to say that both my mother and my father were still happily married and together to this day, but that would be a lie. I was about the age of 3 when my parents got separated. I grew up with my father more than I did with my mother. I did not see my mother again for quite some time and when I did there was always constant change. I grew up not knowing what they had been like when they were together. I heard stories Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. My First Day At School Essay On my first day of middle school I ecstatically jumped out of my bed as my alarm blared in my ears. I put on my clothes I set out the day prior and ran downstairs to get my things for school. I remember being so excited I was completely ready for school half an hour before I needed to be. It all fell apart as I got to the bus. I suddenly became really nervous and was happy to have one of my best friends, Jasmine at the bus stop with me. Once we got to school, I opened my locker (after a few attempts I might add.) and put everything but my binder inside. Surprisingly, Jasmine had the locker one over but below mine. I had put my schedule in the glossy front of my binder. I checked for my first class (reading and writing) and the room number and walked down the hall. Once I got to the class I went to find my seat. It was easy because the teacher had put the seating chart on the board through the document camera. I found my seat and sat down putting my large and empty binder on the desk in front of me. I was completely clueless there was a morning time where students could go hangout with friends and go to classrooms to finish missing assignments and eat breakfast at school. So I sat there almost a full half hour doing nothing. Well, almost nothing. I had a friend who was sitting next to me who also didn't know the mourning period. She was different though, we were almost related once. After first and second period there was my math class. And math classes in the sixth Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 14. Essay about First Day of Secondary School First Day of Secondary School – Original Writing I was so excited yet so terrified at the thought of my first day in secondary school. It felt much to me like my first day as an adult, the first day I ever felt grown up. As I packed my spanking new bag full of spanking new pens and pencils, I couldn't help but think would all the rumours about head flushing, bullying and heaps upon heaps of homework be true? I guess I was about to find out. Sporting my smart new navy blazer, white shirt and tie I slammed the door behind me and swiftly scurried to my friend Vicki's house. I knocked on the door and when it opened I could see that all my anticipation and excitement was being shared in Vicki's...show more content... Everyone instantaneously sat down like a dog obeying its owner, as Mr King gave us the instructions for the day. After about fifteen minutes of worthless gibberish, we went on to our first lessons. The corridors were like a swarming maze. Everyone was crammed in, grabbing on to people's bags so they wouldn't be pushed over. Finally after taking a few wrong turnings we found the right class and sat in our friendship groups. This lesson was maths, and we watched one of those mind–numbing educational videos. Our teacher, Mrs Branfield had a strong Somerset accent, and was a nice teacher. She wasn't too strict but she had the class under control. I was good at maths back then, so it soon became one of my favourite subjects. I was entered into the Maths Challenge that year, and came out with a Bronze certificate, which was good for my year. Our first lesson sped past and we now were on the mission to find our next class. I was on my own now as no one I knew was in my D.T class. I asked the teacher where my next classroom was, and finally found it after following some kids I recognised from my last lesson. When I found the class I went and sat with a girl I didn't know. We were told the projects we'd be making that year which was a drawing board and an alarm, both of which didn't turn out too good. This lesson too sped past and next was my first recess. Recess was the chance Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 16. First Day Of School Essay It was the first day of school for Lilo Smith and it was very hot since it was one of the last days of summer. Lilo was very nervous since she did not know anyone. She walked through the front doors of the school slouched and looked at the ground the whole time until she reached her first class. She went to one of the desk in the back of the classroom and stayed to herself. Many students looked at her but no one put forth an effort to talk to her. The bell rung and class was about to start. The teacher walked into the room and so did another girl. The girl came all the way back to the desk Lilo was sitting at and told her to move. Lilo did not move she stayed seated and waited for the teacher to look back and see what was going on. The teacher told the girl to go find another seat, so the girl gave Lilo a dirty look and went and found another seat. After that everyone had to go around the room and say their name and at least one thing they did that summer. The girl that was rude to Lilo was named Mindy, she talked about how her parents took her to Paris. A boy that sat in front of Lilo named Jake talked about how he got to spend all summer at the beach. When it was Lilo's turn she stated her name then didn't know what else to say because all she did all summer was move. Class ended and everyone rushed out the door, except for Lilo. She packed up her belongings very slowly and walked out the door. Jake was waiting for her outside the classroom, but Lilo did not realize Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Essay about school days Now that I am coming to the end of high school and to the beginning of my college education, it scares me to death. Going to school has been one of my biggest priorities and the most routine part of my life for the past thirteen years. I have many more years to get through, but the years that I spent in elementary school and junior high were the most memorable. I have learned so much since then, it has made me a different person today. I have so many memories from my earlier years in school. I especially remember how much easier it was back then and how much harder it is becoming now as I get older. I started off by going to Peppermint Patty preschool in I do not remember much...show more content... Especially since I would always get in trouble for it. For some reason I do not remember much about first grade. I do not know if it was because it was just a boring year of school or because I just did not like the teacher. One thing I do remember about first grade is that I won the spelling bee. That was a big accomplishment for me in first grade. I think the challenge of first grade was the whole reading concept. Learning how to read is very difficult for a little six year old. I was actually very good at reading, which made me enjoy first grade a little more. I am just glad that it is over with. When I was in second grade it was a big year for me. The main reason is because I made my First Holy Communion. My family is very religious and they were very proud of me for making my Communion. My teacher in second grade was Mrs. Lignowski. She was an old women, but she was very nice. The main subject in second grade was of course religion, so it was not very exciting was a child, but it means a lot in my life now. We would take many trips across the street to the church and practice what we would do in a mass. I remember being absolutely terrified to make a confession with Father Hanley. That was part of making your first Communion so we had to do it. I of course did not confess my sins face–to–face, so I went in the confessional booth. It is done and over with now, it still kind of makes me nervous if I were to do it to this day. Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. My First Day Of School Essay The first day of school is nerve–wracking for most people, for me, the first day was especially terrifying. The first day of a college class is probably more crazy than all others. My mom and younger sister, Michaela, were busy taking pictures as I attempted to run out of the door. After being homeschooled for the last six years, I knew it would be a much different experience. I had been in my room alone doing school; I was content with where I was. The morning of the first day of class, I was so busy that I didn't have time to be nervous. However, as I ran out the door, my heart rate elevated to a pace of 138 bpm. I felt older, nervous, excited, and anxious as I left for Pellissippi. Although it had been six years since I had been in a classroom, I realized that all of my worry was for nothing once I walked into Ms. Brown's class. The summer after I completed the 6th grade, my parents decided to pull me out of my Baptist, private school and homeschool me. I, like most kids, was not thrilled with the decision, but being only 11 years old, I had no say in the matter. Despite my initial reservations, being homeschooled was a great experience for me, but I began to get bored. I missed seeing people every day. It was just me and my family. I was ready for a new experience, something big, and college was exactly what I was looking for. It was Sunday night, and there was a high probability that class would be cancelled. I prayed that that wouldn't happen, however, it did. The Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 19. Reflection Essay : The First Day Of School So, I don't actually like taking about this one expirience due to how I get all sad and broken inside once the subject is brought up once and a while by some non–autistic like me wanting to either get on my nerves, or just needs to complete their assignment for their current class. And thanks to many, many people that I've known that have pressured me to explain the aftermath of this incident, I said that I'll give in to that once that certain time comes. And that time is now. My father was (and still is) a rough and tumble workaholic that still has time to visit his children's birthday party after a fairly short day of work. My mother is a hard working individual occasionally jumping from job–to–job, who is slightly over protective for her own seeds gettling a hard earned life. My siblings only seem to care only about themselves and only themselves. The friends I currently have seem just about as protective about the people they really like as much as they are to themselves. So, this was pretty much a first when it came to the very first day of school at Wheaton Woods elementary. First class, total nightmare, almost non of the other five to six year olds such as me didn't know what to do or what to expect when it came to such a raggity old building with even older staff members, we were throwing shottily made rockets out of legos at eachother, talk fights about who gets what, drawings made from pens and cheap crayons, all of the sort. The first asignment we were told to do Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 20. It was the middle of August. I was wearing a floral sundress, and my hair was bleach blonde, pulled back with two flower printed barrett's. I was excited to make new friends, yet nervous I would hate every second of it. My first day of kindergarten at Davenport Elementary began my long journey of elementary school. During kindergarten I learned the alphabet, how to tie my shoe, and how to make friends. My kindergarten teacher was Mrs. Kaufman and all of my friends that lived near me were in my class, and I was so excited. Unfortunately, within the first day, all of my friends were moved to another class because our class was too big. I was devastated, but this did not stop me from making other friends. In Mrs. Kaufman's class we learned the alphabet by creating special days for each letter in the alphabet. My favorite day was pajama day because I could feel comfortable all day. Although there were highlights, I often tried to go home sick so I would not have to be at school. I would complain of a stomach ache weekly even if I did not have one. Eventually that went away and I rolled into first grade. For first grade I had Mr. Hewitt, who was a new teacher, but I the teacher I was hoping to get was Mr. Garber because his room was western themed. At the time I loved horses and thought it would be cool to be part of his class. I realized Mr. Hewitt's class was not all that bad, and even had a crush on him for the longest time. For most of first grade I was friends with a girl Get more content on HelpWriting.net
