Importance of parents in a child's educationIn this day and age of double income parents and mushrooming tuition centres, it is rare to find parents who believe in giving their child that personal attention at the cost of their careers. Here is a case of a mother who gave up her career when she realized that her son was very talented and needed that extra push to take him to greater heights.<br />
  9. 9. 14-year old SahalKaushik became the youngest ever to crack the IIT-JEE test. He not only topped in Delhi but, also secured an all-India rank of 33. Surprisingly, he did not attend school till the age of 10 years and was home tutored by his mother. His mother, RuchiKaushik gave up her medical practice 12 years ago for mentoring him. <br />

It is not necessary or, even practical for every parent to quit his/her job to teach a child but, all cannot and should not be left to their teachers or, private tutors. Nothing can replace a parent's personal attention to details. After all, if a parent is not serious about their very own child's career then how can a third person be?<br />
