  2. 2. Back ground  Negligence towards the foot and poor knowledge about footwear makes people present foot complications, resulting in amputations. Diabetics especially, suffering from neurological and circulation problems present with various foot problems. Pressure distribution is the main criteria where special orthotics can help. So this trail was made to accomadate new practices .
  3. 3. OBJECTIVE  comparison of 10 mm plastazote insoles to , MCP and cork, outer sole thermo plastic rubber. Plastazote-10mm insoles MCP-6mm insoles Cork-4mm insoles
  4. 4. patient data  Total No: of Patients-54 26/28(plas/mcp-cork)  M : F 50;4  Age 45 – 65 yr  Duration of Analysis 6 – 8 wks

  11. 11. methodology Duration of Use-1st group  10 mm plastazote-6-8 weeks Duration of use-2nd group cork and micro cellular polymers –6-8weeks
  12. 12. Qualities of plastazote  Mouldable on use  Mouldable at 60 degrees  Skin friendly  Pressure distributor  Shore hardness—15 to 17
  13. 13. Qualities of cork  Environmentally friendly  Odour free  Insect resistant  Comfortable  Cushioned  Mouldable  Shore hardness-30 measured with shore hardnessmeter
  14. 14. results  Patients computer foot scan was repeated  Showed significant pressure relief compared to previous scans  Tests pre and post was done bare foot  4 patients there was no follow up because of other medical reasons (plasto users)  1 patient droped out of study(plasto users)  49 patients showed similar improvements
  15. 15. Mcp and cork as replacement to plastazote 10mm insoles Conclusion  Healing period was similar to 10mm plastazote insole compared to mcp with cork . - plastazote-10mm - Micro Cellular Polymer - Cork
