Fathers House Ukraine - 2008 Project Report

Center of Social Care for Children   <ul><li>9 new children were taken to the Center </li></ul><ul><li>5 children were moved to My Family Care Center </li></ul><ul><li>4 children were returned to the biological families or relatives </li></ul><ul><li>24 children were living at the Center during the year </li></ul><ul><li>19 children went through the program of the Treasure Island camp in Kerch </li></ul><ul><li>5 children and 2 parents received Jesus as their Lord and Savior   </li></ul>

Center of Social Care for Children <ul><li>All the children underwent in-depth medical examination, 4 children had surgeries, 13 children received dental treatment, and 7 children began therapy with a speech therapist </li></ul><ul><li>All school-age children are attending school, and 3 of them take individual lessons   </li></ul><ul><li>About 200 individual consultations with children and 14 with caregiver-parents were held </li></ul><ul><li>18 meetings and 2 trainings for professional development were conducted </li></ul>
  4. 4. “ My Family” Care Center <ul><li>7 new children were taken to the Center      </li></ul><ul><li>7 children were adopted and 2 children placed under guardianship </li></ul><ul><li>2 children returned to their biological families </li></ul><ul><li>8 children have started independent life </li></ul><ul><li>28 children attended school and 8 attended colleges and universities </li></ul><ul><li>47 children lived at the Centre during the year </li></ul>
  5. 5. “ Messenger of Peace” Humanitarian Aid Ministry   <ul><li>Received and distributed 84 000 kg of humanitarian aid </li></ul><ul><li>46 organizations from different parts of Ukraine, including orphanages, hospitals and charity organizations received 56 2 00 kg of aid </li></ul><ul><li>6044 children received Christmas presents </li></ul><ul><li>9 2 00 kg of humanitarian aid were provided to the victims of the flood in Western Ukraine </li></ul><ul><li>56 families which suffered from flood received financial support. </li></ul><ul><li>More than 10 000 orphans, disabled, families with many children, and people with special needs received humanitarian aid </li></ul>
  6. 6. “ New Family” Adoption Program <ul><li>64 consultations were provided for prospective adoptive parents </li></ul><ul><li>5 000 copies of Adoption Step by Step book were published and distributed </li></ul><ul><li>5908 users were registered on the program’s website forum </li></ul><ul><li>A trip to USA was arranged for 10 Father's House children, 6 families with children adopted from Father's House were visited </li></ul><ul><li>Participated in 2 TV and 1 radio program </li></ul>
  7. 7. “ Bethel” Complex of Social Care and Protection   <ul><li>Father’s House was officially given the former Pioneers’ camp in Gorbovichi village for “Bethel” project </li></ul><ul><li>The design-project for the reconstruction of the main building has been developed </li></ul><ul><li>Demounted inner walls, facilities, windows and doors, placed openings for input of metal-plastic constructions of building </li></ul><ul><li>Groundwork in project analysis of water supply system, heating system and ventilation was finished </li></ul><ul><li>Volunteers’ team from “Father’s House” (children and staff) , Holland, USA and Australia worked on the demounting. </li></ul><ul><li>Altogether works on amount of 71 634 UAH totally fulfilled </li></ul>

International Center of Leadership and Development <ul><li>ICLD officially registered </li></ul><ul><li>2 adoption trainings and 4 on social work with children for 54 specialists of government social services from all regions of Ukraine </li></ul><ul><li>2 trainings on adoption and social work with children for 54 workers from regional Children’s services </li></ul><ul><li>Training for 12 “Father’s House” workers </li></ul><ul><li>Distributed 400 copies of the book “Social-psychological work with families and children at risk” I part </li></ul><ul><li>6 bulletins from the series “Effective parenting: step by step”, altogether 3 000 copies </li></ul><ul><li>The visit of specialists in work with children from USA for experience exchange arranged, 2 conferences for key workers of social services </li></ul>
  9. 9. “ Pilgrim's Hope” Children’s Recreation Centre <ul><li>358 children and adults rested on the base in Shtormove village, Crimea </li></ul><ul><li>78 children and adults rested in Kerch, Crimea </li></ul><ul><li>6 children with adults have been on the winter hiking trip in the Carpathians </li></ul><ul><li>12 children with adults went to walking trip in Chrornogirskiy Ridge in the Carpathian Mountains </li></ul>

Consulting department <ul><li>More than 500 consultations were given to 45 children of Father’s House </li></ul><ul><li>50 parents from families at conflict situations were given 160 consultations </li></ul><ul><li>6 training seminars for Father's House workers were held </li></ul><ul><li>More than 50 phone consultations were given </li></ul><ul><li>20 children forgave their parents </li></ul><ul><li>2 children were set free from suicidal spirit </li></ul><ul><li>6 children were given consultations before being adopted </li></ul><ul><li>7 children became free from nightmares and fears, 1 child became free of lunacy </li></ul><ul><li>10 children wer healed from rejection and low self-esteem </li></ul>

Children’s art and creativity <ul><li>“ Singing Hearts” music group </li></ul><ul><li>Took part in the charity program “Donate blood- save a life” together with association of young donors of Ukraine and actors of the theatre on Podol </li></ul><ul><li>Performed: </li></ul><ul><li>At a charity concert in the Netherlands </li></ul><ul><li>At the anniversary of partner organization in Germany </li></ul><ul><li>Organized action to support disabled children in the town of Boyarka (“Ikar” organization of disabled) and cerebral palsy children (“Noah’s ark” organization) </li></ul><ul><li>“ Dialogue” Theatre studio </li></ul><ul><li>Took part in a theatre festival in Lviv </li></ul><ul><li>Participated in a charity program for low-income elderly people in Kyiv city </li></ul><ul><li>Organize the action for support of low-income families in the towns of Gaivoron and Koziyatin </li></ul><ul><li>Performed Christmas Nativity Play at schools, state organizations and private facilities </li></ul>
  12. 12. ‘ Father’s House’ Other projects <ul><li>Program for support of students graduated from children’s institutions   </li></ul><ul><li>54 students from the number of orphans received regular financial support, among them 18 in Kyiv, 12 in Mariupol, 24 in Crimea </li></ul><ul><li>15 study at high school, 19 in technical schools and collages and 20 in professional schools </li></ul><ul><li>Children’s home of family type in the town of Radomyshl </li></ul><ul><li>  </li></ul><ul><li>Reconstruction works in the house at Radomysl town for the CHFT </li></ul><ul><li>Caregiver-parents are the couple who worked at the Family Care Center and decided to devote themselves to this work for their lives </li></ul>
