So fast, too soon?

  5. 5. We have mostly created e-waste.
  6. 6. Sale of a product is an inadequate metric for success.
  7. 7. Cradle to cradle or design for disassembly are largely ignored methodologies.
  8. 8. Security is too expensive to implement early on.
  9. 9. Design education is barely catching up with ‘digital’. ECAL digital market.
  10. 10. Engineering education is not focused enough on manufacturing realities.
  11. 11. Computing education is not focused enough on ethics or user experience.
  12. 12. User experience is underappreciated.
  13. 13. Business education is not focused at all on complex engineering and manufacturing realities.
  14. 14. Customer support is an investment that is undervalued.
  15. 15. Consumer expectation are higher than a startup can deal with.
  16. 16. Crowdfunding is toxic for startups who have never shipped anything.
  17. 17. Inflated expectations for a group of people who have never shipped anything in their life.
