UCAS Apply System Presentation

  1. 1. UCAS 2007 HOW AND WHEN TO MAKE AN APPLICATION

All applications will be done online. <ul><li>When should you apply? </li></ul><ul><li>All applications MUST be completed by January 15 th . </li></ul><ul><li>The following courses are exceptions to this rule! </li></ul>Courses at Oxford or Cambridge Universities. Courses in Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry . Applications for these courses must be in by 15 October.
  3. 3. Electronic Application System APPLY 2007 Will be available on every computer in the school. PC’s in the library will have online system as well. Training will be provided for you prior to applying. Lunchtime help surgeries will be available. Your Guidance Teacher will help with any problems.
  4. 4. What you should do now! <ul><li>Make an appointment with your guidance teacher as soon </li></ul><ul><li>as possible. Between now and end of September. </li></ul><ul><li>Collect information help sheets from your </li></ul><ul><li>guidance teacher. </li></ul><ul><li>Make sure you know when training lessons will be </li></ul><ul><li>given. </li></ul>

Don’t know which courses to choose? <ul><li>If you are not totally sure of the courses to apply for then the following points are obvious. </li></ul><ul><li>You have no clear career pathway in mind. </li></ul><ul><li>Make an appointment with the Careers Advisor ASAP. </li></ul><ul><li>The Careers Advisor will not come looking for you. She deals with appointments on a self referral system. You must fill out a request form which can be obtained from the library or Guidance Base. </li></ul><ul><li>DO IT NOW! TODAY! </li></ul>
  6. 6. Before you start the Apply Program!!!! Research your intended courses. Speak to your parents, teachers and careers officer. Find your course codes on UCAS ONLINE. (www.ucas.com) Be realistic in your choice of courses. Finally!! The choice must be yours.
