  2. 2.  The Archdiocesan Shrine of Jesus, the Way the Truth & the Life and Pope John Paul II Youth Center is a fulfillment of the dream of late Pope John Paul II to have a center for the young people as he expressed during the World Youth Day celebration in 1995. The Shrine and the Youth Center is a fitting monument to the unprecedented attendance to the Holy Father’s Eucharistic Celebration at the Luneta Park, wherein more than six million people from all walks of life, from different corners of the world gathered, to join the said celebration. In the Pope’s message to the young people in attendance, he highlighted that Jesus is the Way the Truth and the Life.
  3. 3.  The Shrine of Jesus is a project of the Archbishop of Manila, the late Jaime L. Cardinal Sin, DD whose love for the Youth is of the same fervor and intensity as the Holy Father. The land and the church was donated and built by Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sy Sr., of the Shoe Mart Group of Companies. It was consecrated and dedicated on July 9, 1999 by the late Eminence Jaime L. Cardinal Sin, DD; with His Excellency, Archbishop Antonio Franco, DD, the Apostolic Nuncio; His Eminence, Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal, DD Archbishop of Cebu, the Archbishops and Bishops of the Philippines in the presence of a very large number of the faithful specially the youth as witness to this momentous event. On the same day, the first Shrine rector was installed in the person of Rev. Msgr. Roberto C. Canlas.
  4. 4.  In October of the same year, the Shrine celebrated its first fiesta with the Pauline Sisters Family with the simple blessing of its business office. This year, October 26 marks the 10th Fiesta celebration of the Shrine of Jesus the Way the Truth and the Life however instead of simply organizing festivities to celebrate this occasion, our Rector and few volunteers individuals decided to stage a benefit-concert mainly for the benefit of the pediatric cancer patients of the Philippine General Hospital linking the very vision of the late Cardinal Sin for his love for of the Youth and as a way of bringing giving back the glory to God who is our source of inspiration and the many blessings that God has bestowed to the community of the Shrine of Jesus continue to receive.
  5. 5.  From the time of its installation to its present situation, changes after changes and milestone after milestone took place in this once barren land and now one of the busiest establishments in this part of Metro Manila. Our Rector Msgr. Monsignor Bobby Canlas has always expressed that the Shrine of Jesus will continue in it’s zeal and commitment in its role to be a an oasis of source of Spiritual growth and nourishment in the once barren land but now one of the busiest places of interest. the community of Love in the busy commercial area.
  6. 6.  Revised Responses for the New Translation of the Roman Missal INTRODUCTORY RITES Entrance Procession: (After the people have assembled, the Entrance song is sung or the Antiphon recited as the priest and the ministers enter the church and makes the procession to the altar; after reverencing the altar, and sometimes also using incense
  7. 7.  Childrens Fiesta Mass Witness our young people and children serve and animate the Eucharistic celebration through their pious and devout services. At a very young age, our children are exposed in the service of the Lords Vineyard.
  8. 8.  Medical and Dental MissonAs part of the Shrines outreach program, our Shrine Family Volunteers will trek to Sitio Pasbul, Barangay Camias in Porac, Pampanga together with volunteer doctors and dentists to render free medical & dental services, distribute free medicines and feed our less fortunate Aeta brethren permanently displaced by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo many years ago.
  9. 9.  Typhoon Sendong victims get P1 million from the Shrine of Jesus The Shrine of Jesus has recently donated P1 million for victims of typhoon Sendong in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan.
  10. 10.  2011 Shrine of Jesus Lenten and Easter Activities This season of Lent will help us do that. For 40 days, we prepare ourselves for Easter through prayer, repentance, fasting and alms-giving. The following is a guide for the Lenten activities that will help us realize the beauty and essence of our faith, beginning with the Burning of Palms and ending with Easter Sunday, when we celebrate the glorious resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ who saved us from sin and death.
