Math Rat

 1. 1. The Tortoise And The Hare By: Kelly, Jackie, Liam, and Jack
 2. 2. Calculations Y=3/4x+1000 Y=6X Y=-2x+1200
 3. 4. A Race to Remember Last Saturday at Bear Bridge Park there was a very competitive race going on between three well known rivals. These rivals included the Tortoise AKA. Bill Slowskie, the Hare AKA. The Beast, and the Rat AKA. Speedy Gonzales. Although the Rat is unbelievably fast, he is not the most intelligent rat and started the race from the finish line. Bill Slowskie, and The Beast however started from the starting line and raced to finish line with extreme passion. Starting off the race, Bill Slowskie had the lead and seemed to leave The Beast and the Rat in the dust. This was not however the case.
 4. 6. Midway into the Race

The Rat thinking he was in the lead was lapped by the tortoise 72.72 seconds into the race. At 150 seconds into the race, the Hare also passed the Rat who had no chance to win the race. A whole minute into the race the tortoise was 1045 feet, the Rat was 1080 feet and the Hare was 360 feet. The spectators had a bet on the tortoise thinking he was a shoe in to win.

 5. 8. The Results

190.47 seconds into the race, and 1142.82 feet from the starting line this all changed. In a feat of sporting grandeur the Hare who was far behind the tortoise, blasted past the competition and took the lead. Amazingly the Hare caught up and passed the Tortoise leaving everyone watching in awe. The winner of the race was the Hare, who crossed the finish line at 220 seconds. Beating everyone else by 206.66 seconds, and 155 feet.
