Chapter Nine

  1. 1. CHAPTER NINE1. How do you relate to others?- I am very shy and unfriendly so I tend to separate from groups or classmates. I prefer to work and think by my own. I have a fear of rejection, or to be criticizing by others. I love to help, I am a very sensitive person so I don’t like when people laugh at others I think that’s a sign of cowardice. TREAT OTHERS AS YOU WISH TO BE TREATED.2. What skills have you learned to relate to others?- Florida has the largest percentage of different cultures than others states, so we have to learn how to relate to others. We are equal no matter what; I hate to criticize that’s why I prefer to reserved my feelings or opinions. Look past external characteristic never discriminate of judge a person by their physical type. Move beyond your feelings communicate with others help them overcome fears or help them with homework that’s a little step to get to know your classmates. Put yourself in other people’s shoes try to think how they feel, if you see a person crying on the hallways ask them how they feel, maybe you are the key to help them overcome a problem. Trust me you are going to feel really good helping people. Adjust to cultural differences; learn how to treat others from other different countries research more about different behaviors, its general culture. Climb over language barriers; never laugh at the person if they don’t speak correctly we are here to help others not to make jokes about how they pronounce or if they don’t know English. “He who controls others may be powerful, but he who has mastered himself is mightier still”- Lao Tazu.
