Its form is seen in the curtains rus- tling and is felt by the sound of the chirping and buzzing of life in the outdoors. The outdoors come indoors through the soft breeze. This makes Spring synonymous with new life. That breeze brings calm! But sometimes, the breeze brings alarm. There are four seasons, but it seems that there are more than four. It seems that there are sub-seasons. The time of transition between each season, where hot air and cold air mix, causing a situation much different than the picture above. We call it tornado season around here, but some call it hurricane season. It is incredible to see the power of the wind. Jesus said to Nicodemus: “That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’ The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit” (John 3:6-8). The way the wind blows and gently tosses those curtains, or the way the raging gale decimates neighborhoods, causes us to see the unseeable through what it affects. Tim Shoemaker explained this passage recently in a way I have never thought of. Every- one born of the Spirit will be affected. They will be changed. You will see in them a fluttering of the curtains or the blazing of a trail for reaching lost souls. You will see a spring in their step as they rise to walk in newness of life! Yes, spring is in the air. A note from the Harp
