I made a 10 second video of the descending flurries and posted it on social media. I asked for spiritual ideas. Joyce Taggart mentioned that “each flake is completely different, together they make a beautiful blanket.” Upon closer examination of each snowflake, one can see the pattern and intricacy of each design. This causes awe of the power of their designer. Rick Glass defined this power and the use of this blanket in a vivid way. He said, “I think of how the pure whiteness of snow covers all the ugliness in this world.” Ancel Norris said that snow “makes a garbage dump a winter wonderland.” Patrick Swayne said the power of God was something witnessed by the snow that comes and then melts away. He mentioned this passage: “He gives snow like wool; he scatters frost like ashes. He hurls down his crystals of ice like crumbs; who can stand before his cold? He sends out his word, and melts them; he makes his wind blow and the waters flow” (Psalm 147:16–18). It is this visual of snow coming, and then melting away, that illustrates our sins melting away from us. The greatest example of trash and deterioration that is covered like a blanket. Brianna Couch Glines mentioned this concept that our sins become as white as snow. Paul Wind- ham cited where this concept is found: “Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool (Isaiah 1:18). God’s power is able to make our sin stains of scarlet as white as snow. This reveals God’s greatest power. He used the blood of the lamb to wash our scarlet stains to a radiant brightness. Have your sins been washed as white as … Snow? A note from the Harp
