Hurricane Harvey
We have donated $5,000 to the Church of Christ Disaster Relief fund to help
with the needs of those affective by hurricane Harvey. Everything over our
budget for the month of September will go to help the disaster relief
effort in Houston. We want to thank the congregation for all your concerns
and generous giving. This year we have helped numerous people in need
with food and personal items.
Thank you again for your generous giving,
The Elders
Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort
The best way to help Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort assist those in need is to donate money.
Every food box, hygiene box, infant care box we send are exactly alike. All families get a food box with
the same contents as their neighbors. The donations from congregations and individuals that support us,
along with ordering direct from brokers and manufacturers, allow us to purchase needed supplies in large
volume, at extreme discounts, whenever we need them. We are able to stretch your donation dollar to buy
3-4 times what you could purchase at retail prices. Purchasing these items allows us to be better organ-
ized, know the inventory we have, and buy the size of items we need.
What we do: Churches of Christ Relief Effort immediately responds to any major disaster in the conti-
nental United States. We contact the leadership of local Church of Christ in or near a major disaster area.
If the leadership says their local congregation wants to help, we send and turn over to that congregation
truckloads of emergency food, personal hygiene, infant care, water, cleaning supplies, and pallets of addi-
tional basic needs, for them to distribute to the disaster victims. Volunteers help pack the majority of these
supplies in our Nashville warehouse so they are ready to be distributed.

Behold Your God - Part 3
None have taught God; He has never asked
advice of any of us; there is no problem for which
God has no solution. The Psalmist praised God de-
claring, “Great is our Lord, and of great power:
his understanding is infinite” (Psa. 147:5 NKJV).
The RSV translates this verse as “his understand-
ing is beyond measure.” There are means by
which the intelligence of men can be measured. We
speak of a person’s I.Q. One’s I.Q. (intelligence quo-
tient) in general, is an assessment of your ability to
think and reason. The highest I.Q. ever measured is
that of Marilyn Vos Savant whose I.Q. is said to be
228. But God’s intelligence, wisdom or understand-
ing is beyond measure. There is no limit to it for God
knows everything. We mentioned before Psalms
147:4 that informs us that God “determines the
number of the stars, he gives to all of them their
names.” Man cannot do this. We cannot tell the
number of stars and we certainly don’t have names
for all of them. One time God called Abraham and
said to him, “Look now toward heaven, and count
the stars if you are able to number them" (Gen.
15:5).
God knows what is going on in the lives of
men. There is nothing that is kept secret from Him.
Solomon said of God, “The eyes of the LORD are
in every place, beholding the evil and the
good” (Proverbs 15:3). If man really understands
the knowledge of God, he will not try to hide his sins
from God. When Adam and Eve sinned their first re-
action was to try to hide from God. “And they heard
the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden
in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid
themselves from the presence of the LORD God
amongst the trees of the garden” (Gen. 3:8).
When Cain killed his brother Abel he tried to hide
that fact from God but God knew what he had done.
“And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy
brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my
brother's keeper? 10 And he said, What hast
thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood
crieth unto me from the ground” (Gen. 4:9, 10).
Throughout time men have deceived themselves into
believing they could hide their sins from God simply
because they were able to hide their sins from their
fellow man. “These things hast thou done, and I
kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was alto-
gether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove
thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
