  3. 3.  BHEL is a leading Maharatna Company in India.  It have 15 manufacturing divisions.  More than 42600 employees are performing their work.  Two repair units, four regional offices eight service centres and15 regional centres and currently operate at more than 150 project sites across India and abroad.
  4. 4.  It is called second-generation plant of BHEL  Set up in 1974 at an estimated cost of `16.22 crores inclusive of `2.1 crores for township.  Its foundation was laid by late Mrs. Indira Gandhi the prime minister on 9th Jan. 1974.  The commercial production of the unit began in 1976-77 with an output of `53 lacs since then there has been no looking back for BHEL Jhansi.
