  • Nice tutorial. I found BPMN specially useful in its executable version. For example in Flokzu BPM Suite ( http://www.flokzu.com/EN?utm_source=linkedin ) you can draw your process using BPMN and the deploy it and start using it without a single line of code. This is where the notation shows all its power: to visualize and discuss the process, but also to automate it and improve your business operations through process automation.

Sub process MUST define an internal process with a start and end event. A sub process is only reusable within the parent process (i.e. it is not reusable in the overall design).

Tokens do not flow along a Data Association, and as a result they have no direct effect on the flow of the Process. Used for retrieving data from Data Objects or Process Data Inputs to fill the Activities inputs and push the output values from the execution of the Activity back into Data Objects or Process Data Outputs.
