    1. 1. Welcome to WITT Library/Learning Centre <ul><li>This introduction will give you some basic information you need to use the Library </li></ul><ul><li>If you have any questions, please ask at any time </li></ul>
    2. 2. How do I join the library? <ul><li>Your ID card is also your library card </li></ul><ul><li>Register at the Issue Desk </li></ul><ul><li>You must have your card to borrow items </li></ul>
    3. 3. What else do I need to know about borrowing? <ul><li>You may have up to 6 items on loan at one time </li></ul><ul><li>Books are issued for 4 weeks </li></ul><ul><li>Videos and serials are issued for 1 week </li></ul>
    4. 4. When I return items to the library where do I put them? <ul><li>There is a returns slot at the end of the Issue Desk </li></ul><ul><li>When the library is closed, there is an after hours slot outside </li></ul>
    5. 5. What if I have not finished with the items that I have on loan? <ul><li>You can renew the items if no one else is waiting for them by… </li></ul><ul><li>asking at the Issue Desk </li></ul><ul><li>renewing them online through the library catalogue </li></ul><ul><li> </li></ul>To avoid fines, renew items before they become overdue
    6. 6. What if my books are late back? <ul><li>Overdue notices are sent in the post or via email </li></ul><ul><li>Fines will be charged on overdue items when returned to the library </li></ul><ul><li>After 1 month if the item is not returned, an account will be generated </li></ul>

What if someone has the book that I want? <ul><li>You can reserve an item that is out on loan by… </li></ul><ul><li>asking at the Issue Desk to place a reserve </li></ul><ul><li>reserving it online through the library catalogue </li></ul>Remember, you can only reserve items that are already out on loan
    8. 8. How do I find what I need in the library? <ul><li>Use the library online catalogue (OPAC) </li></ul><ul><li>The OPAC lists everything held in the library </li></ul><ul><li>Tells you where to find it </li></ul>Remember to ask for help if you can’t find what you need
    9. 9. Closed Reserve <ul><li>Issued for 2 hours </li></ul><ul><li>Need your ID card to borrow them </li></ul><ul><li>Everyone gets fair access to key texts </li></ul>

You might be interested to know………. <ul><li>If the library doesn’t own the item you need, we may be able to interloan it from another library for you. </li></ul><ul><li>Free of charge </li></ul><ul><li>Allow up to 2 weeks for the item to arrive </li></ul><ul><li>Forms at Issue Desk </li></ul>

When is the library open? <ul><li>Term time: </li></ul><ul><li>Monday – Thursday 8am – 7pm </li></ul><ul><li>Friday 8am – 4:30pm </li></ul><ul><li>Saturday 8:30am – 12:30pm </li></ul><ul><li>Holiday hours: </li></ul><ul><li>Monday – Friday 8am – 4:30pm </li></ul><ul><li>Closed Public Holidays </li></ul>
    14. 14. If I don’t know how to use the library will someone show me? <ul><li>YES - ask us for help </li></ul><ul><li>We offer a range of tutorials or individual sessions </li></ul><ul><li>A Reference Desk is available each day from 3-4 pm </li></ul>
