3. 3. Content pedagogy
Content pedagogy refers to the pedagogical (teaching) skills teachers use to impart the specialized knowledge/content of their subject area(s).
4. 4. What does research say
Researchers and other scholars seeking to understand and define the knowledge and thinking underlying teaching have focused on numerous issues and bring multiple perspectives to bear on this complex domain. Much of this work has addressed some combination of three sets of interrelated questions:
What do (or should) teachers know? What domains or categories of knowledge are important for teaching?
How do teachers know? What is the nature or form of various kinds of knowledge needed for teaching?
How do teachers think? What thought processes underlie teaching?
5. 5. Teachers quotes
“If a child can’t learn the way we teach, maybe we should teach the way they learn.”
by Ignacio Estrada
“Tell me and I’ll forget
show me and I may remember,
involve me and I will understand.”
Chinese Proverb
