Proposal AND RESEARCH for music video

  1. 1. PROPOSAL By Timothy , Dianni and Timmy
  2. 2. ARTIST + TRACK  The artist we are going to be using is Timothy to a track called Ms fat booty freestyle. The song is about a story of the his past relationship and encounters with women.
  3. 3. THE PURPOSE  The reason why we chose to do a music video for use to promote Timmy B as an artists for more exposure and to also promote the music we make. This as well will be part of of our portfolio for when we present to university and show our abilities in creating videos with depth and narrative, also with the use of effects.
  4. 4. THE IDEA OF THE MUSIC VIDEO  The video will interlink with the lyrics as the song is about telling a story, the ideas that we came up with for the video is the artist walking as the person with the camera is front of the artist following as the artist is talking into the camera and explaining the story. As the artist is explaining the story it comes to life as people come in and out while the artist is explaining the story. We plan to make this work with locations as they will play a heavy part in making the video work as it will balance out the flow of the music video. There’s going to be effects added in during the editing process with lettering and design to make the video stand out more. The amount of people in video will depend on the setting at where we at so that we can even it out and stretch It a little more so that it’s not all done in one day so we can have more time to prepare and gather the people we need on that particular day. It’s helps because some people might be busy, so although when we shoot it, it might not be in order but when we are editing we’ll put it all together we just have to make sure it makes sense so that we’ll depend on how I’m dressed throughout the video for it to make sense.

TALENT AND CREW  We’ll need around 10 girls 1 boy for the video, but we’ll break it up in to section, for one location we’ll have a certain amount of girls for that day and a certain amount of girls on a different location on another day just to make it easier so.  We’ll have a camera man, director and a producer.

  7. 7. RESEARCH AND TARGET AUDIENCE As part of our audience research we conducted a survey to find out more about our target audience and what type of music video they would like. From the research we have found out that our target audience ranges from 16-24, they are mostly students in full time education while some are in full time employment. The genres of music they prefer to listen to are US rap/hip-pop and UK grime/trap and the platforms they use to listen to it are Spotify and YouTube. Also their favourite type of music videos are conceptual, narrative and performance based music videos. This will also would be able to relate more to the song predominately males as it’s from a male’s perspective. The target audience for my music video are both boys and girls who are around the age of 16-24, they would also live in London. They would be full-time students who might also have a part-time job. They most likely earn £12,000 or less and there social grade would be DE.
  8. 8. INSPIRATION/RESEARCH From our research we got some inspiration from two artists music videos. One was a Jay Z music video where a camera would follow him room to room with different girls in them. The second video was young Nyro 90s baby where he has some types of animation and shots that we would like to use.
  9. 9. CONTENT REASEACH  The music video above shows a music video which is in the same genre as ours, it features many of the conventions in the genre. This music video was released on Spotify as well as the artist Santan Dave own YouTube channel. This music video helped promote both artist as well as the brand Nike. It was very successful and got 1.8 million hits on YouTube.  However our music video will be different and be unconventional to our genre. Our music video will be a performance based and will see the artist walking about and talking about his different relationship with girls. While he is walking about it will cut to different locations and when it cuts to different locations the artist will change his clothing. The girls he talks about in his music video will also appear in the video while he is talking about them. Our music video will also use a variety of different camera shots such as close up, mid shots and wide shots.
