Introduction  Possessing more than 20 years of experience as a financial services and insurance industry professional, former USAA marketing executive, Dawn Johnson, currently serves as chief executive officer and founder of DMJ Consulting. A longtime San Antonio resident, Dawn Johnson helped rebrand and reposition USAA within the marketplace during her years of tenure. Beyond her professional responsibilities, Ms. Johnson currently serves as a member of the board of trustees for the South Texas Chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, which sponsors a Team in Training program.

Question #1: What is the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS)?  Answer #1: Established in 1949, LLS works tirelessly to fund research that leads to effective cures and treatments for individuals diagnosed with blood disorders. Today, approximately 90 percent of children diagnosed continue to live with leukemia, while 40 years ago the survival rate was only 3 percent.
  4. 4. Question #2: What is the Team in Training program?  Answer #2: Team in Training funds important research that leads to cures for blood disorders such as myeloma, leukemia, and lymphoma. In return for raising funds and awareness, Team in Training provides individuals with valuable information and programs to help them train for marathons, half marathons, and triathlons.
  5. 5. Question #3: Who is eligible to participate in Team in Training?  Answer #3: Team in Training attracts the participation of individuals, families, teams, and the business community. Over the past 25 years, Team in Training’s more than 570,000 participants helped raise in excess of $875 million in support of blood cancer research.
