7. Steam Expansion
Q: If you boiled one gallon of water into steam, what
would the volume of steam be?
(In gallons. Take a guess!!)
7
8. Steam Expansion
A: One gallon of water expands into 1,517 gallons of steam!! –
expanding one thousand five hundred times!!
8
9. All Steam Cleaners Are Not Equal
Discharge temperature makes a
TREMENDOUS difference in
cleaning quality.
– Higher discharge temperature =
more water flashing to steam.
– More steam = more
EXPANSION = extra water
droplet acceleration and
cleaning capability.

14. Benefits of All-Electric
Cleaners
1. 100% All-Electric: Therefore No fumes, No exhaust, No air
contamination. Used in “clean” and/or in confined areas
2. No Burner: Thus no burner maintenance (burner is #1 source of
problems in traditional models). Most reliable and maintenance-free of all
models. Saving the customer time and money because of reduced down
time and repair costs.
3. Rugged Design -- Based on 35+ years experience. Designed for heavy
duty use in rugged and corrosive environments such as oil and gas,
wastewater, and mining.
4. Simple Installation: – No exhaust stack. No fuel tanks. No gas lines.
Easy to use in different locations (where power and water are available).
14
15. Benefits of All-Electric
Cleaners
5. Simple operation and maintenance: Few moving parts. Easy access to
components. Complete troubleshooting section of manual.
6. Continuous discharge temperature maintained: water or steam will
never “cool off.” This is critical to maintain cleaning capability.
Extremely important for large cleaning projects.
7. Exceptional Reputation: Sioux has been the industry leader in All
Electric units for over 30 years. Many companies specify Sioux and will
allow no substitutions.
8. Exceptional Reliability: This design is the most reliable of any unit in the
industry, including all other Sioux units and all competitors. ONLY
MANUFACTURER TO OFFER A RELIABILITY GUARANTEE!
15
16. Benefits of All-Electric
Cleaners
8. Explosion-proof option: (EN-Series only) ideal for hazardous locations
such as oil drilling platforms, refineries, pharmaceutical manufacturing, &
underground mining.
• Designed to these standards:
• Class I – Flammable Gases or
Vapors
• Class II – Explosive Dusts
• Often Sioux is the only company that
can meet difficult specifications build
these units
16
17. Benefits of All-Electric
Cleaners
9. Power Requirement: This unit heats the water continuously (no heat
storage tank), which takes considerable power. That is why this unit
can run continuously without a drop in discharge temperature. The
customer needs a sufficient power circuit to run this equipment because
it takes more electricity to heat electrically than a fuel fired unit which
uses diesel fuel, LP, or natural gas.
• Not applicable for small customers with minimal electric service.
• Great for medium to large customers.
17
18. Certifications
• Non-Explosion-Proof Units-
• ETL certified to:
• UL 1776
• CAN/CSA-22.2 No. 68-92
• CE (Europe) available
• Explosion-Proof Units-
• ETL certified to:
• UL 1203
• CAN/CSA C 22.2 No. 30-92
• Additional certifications that are available upon request-
• ATEX (Europe)
• GOST-R (Russia)
• GOST-K (Kazakhstan)
• Meet OSHA regulation 1910.399 requiring electrical equipment to be third-
party certified for safety by a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL).

20. Sioux All-Electric
vs. Tank Style
Competitors: Use a storage tank for heating water using a heat transfer fluid.
Disadvantages of the tank style design:
•Must be preheated for 1 to 2 hours before
operation.
•Tank style is less efficient because of
stand by losses.
•Decrease in water temperature with
extended use.
•80-140 gallon tank for heat transfer fluid
makes it difficult to move around because
of the weight (670-1175 lbs for the water
alone).
20
21. Fuel-Fired Cleaners
• Standard Ratings:
• 1.2-8 GPM (4.5-30 LPM) Steam at 250 PSI (17 BAR), 320°F (160°C)
• 1.8-10 GPM (6.8-38 LPM) Hot Water up to 600- 3,000 PSI (41.4-207
BAR), 200°F (93°C)
21
22. Benefits of Fuel-Fired Cleaners
1. Equipment Design Life: The strong structural steel frame helps Sioux units
last 20-30 years or longer: much longer than other units on the market.
2. Pump and Motor: Oversized to reduce stress and premature wear out of
both the pump and the motor. Open frame helps unit run cooler.
3. Improved Coil Design: Horizontally fired coils improves efficiency and
allows for easy burner maintenance.
4. Simple Installation, Operation and Maintenance: Is there any other way?
Plus easy access to electrical panel and burner assembly for servicing.
22
23. Benefits of Fuel-Fired Cleaners
5. 320°F Steam: Hotter pressurized water results in faster more effective steam
cleaning with continuous steam capabilities. Also has chemical option
available with all steam options.
6. Third Party Certified plus UL and CAN/CSA: Protects the user, the company
and you, against OSHA fines and possible litigations in court.
7. Numerous Options Available: Sioux is the application-specific, custom
equipment leader in the industry, with capabilities to design and build with
custom and non-standard options. Complete submittal packages available
from our Engineering Dept.
23
24. Engine-Driven Cleaners

26
27. Benefits of Solution Heaters
• Get more return per strip.
• Strip carbon columns up to 5 times
faster.
• Make your stripping process more
efficient.
• Extract up to 35% more gold per
strip.
• Give your stripping operation the
edge it needs to exceed normal
gold recovery.
A study performed at the University of Las Vegas Nevada shows that using
a heated stripping solution of only 68°F increases gold recovery by up to
20%.
27
29. Sioux Water Heaters
Instant continuous supply of hot water
1 - 3 Million BTU/ Hour
Oil, LP, or Natural Gas Burners
High Efficiency Three-Pass Coil Design

and mining
29
30. As seen in……
Sioux was rated highest for water heaters amongst
precast and ready-mix concrete producers:
#1 in brand familiarity and
#1 quality rating of all brands
31. Benefits of Using Hot Water
√ Pouring concrete at a precise temperature produces a higher quality
concrete.
√ Heating the water is five times more efficient than heating the
aggregate.
√ Warm concrete produces a better finish and a faster screeding and
setup
√ Many federal, state, and local agencies specify at what temperature
the concrete should be poured.
√ Extend your pouring season in extreme temperatures
√ Charge typically $4-8 more per yard for heated concrete
√ Avoid costly setup mistakes and set up and finish jobs faster
33. Sioux Steam Generators
Soil Sterilization in the greenhouse industry
Curing concrete in the precast industry
Degassing tanks in transportation industry
Thawing railcars or heating tanks in the petroleum industry
33

Editor's Notes
Overall we have about 60 distributors in the US and about 25 int’l distributors. As a small family owned business – our focus has always been on identifying needs that our equipment may provide a solution for in various markets all over the world. You will really see how we differ from a mass producer in the fact that every machine is carefully crafted to meet a specific purpose in cleaning, steam generating or water heating.
