These men faced possible life terms in prison. </li></ul><ul><li>The other three men are charged with firing pistols and shotguns resulting in injuries are: </li></ul><ul><li>Matthew J. McManus, Barry W. Morris and Leon H. Smith. These men faced the possibility of one year in prison and a $1,000 fine. All eight former guardsmen plead not guilty to all charges . </li></ul>

Aftermath <ul><li>June 13 th 1,250 seniors and graduate students return to receive their degrees. </li></ul><ul><li>4 Million Students from 900 Colleges and Universities protested after the Kent State shootings. </li></ul><ul><li>The National Guard never publicized the findings of the investigation. </li></ul>
