Oxfordshire Profile <ul><li>The sectors employing most people are i) public administration, education and health ii) banking, finance and insurance and iii) distribution, hotels and restaurants. </li></ul><ul><li>Public administration is the largest sector in Oxfordshire, employing 30% of the workforce. </li></ul><ul><li>Small businesses are major employers in aggregate - total of 32,000 work places in Oxfordshire, 86% employ 1-10 people. </li></ul>

Oxfordshire Profile <ul><li>Over 5,000 people are employed in agriculture, hunting and forestry </li></ul><ul><li>The education sector employs over 33,000 people, 11% of the workforce </li></ul><ul><li>Printing and publishing employs over 7,600 people, 2.5% of the workforce. </li></ul><ul><li>Car manufacturing - BMW plant - employs 4,500 people </li></ul><ul><li>Over 1,400 high-tech companies currently employ over 37,000 people in Oxfordshire, which represents 9.5% of all employees. </li></ul><ul><li>Over 30,000 people work in the health and social work sector in Oxfordshire- 10% of the total workforce, </li></ul>
