Independence Design™ is a pilot project in applied innovation that aims to move the needle on national independence-building efforts.

Darwin—a center for social impact—and action pact—a frontlines poverty-fighting organization in Southeastern Georgia—will employ the principles of collective impact to close the gap between people and systems. By conducting human-centered design research on frontlines experiences navigating services, we will give clients not only a voice in the systems that serve them, but a role as well. The project will result in a comprehensive, empathetic theory of change and service-design model—by the people, for the people.

This presentation explains the key concepts and vocabulary that we use to describe our mission. Visit www.independence.design to learn more.

Ultimately, given the needs identified, we will conceptualize and pilot updates to internal systems—such as intake and case management—as well as external communications. a clear and simple journey from door to door service service serviceprogramprogram ENTRANCE INTO THE SYSTEM EXIT FROM THE SYSTEM © 2018 Darwin.
