  2. 2. “I can’t change the direction of the wind, but I can adjust my sails to always reach me destination.” Hindi natin kayang baguhin ang takbo ng dereksyon ng ihip hangin. Pero kaya natin laging baguhin o I adjust ang ating layag ( pag - uugali) para makarating tayo sa ating paruruunan.

  4. 4. • Phil 4:4-10 NASU 4 Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice! 5 Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. 6 Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.

Background of the Book of Philippians: This is a thank you letter to the Church of Philippi because of their partnership of proclaiming the gospel.1:3  because of their support to Apostle Paul during his mission and imprisonment. The Philippians Church were very Generous to Paul. This letter was written by Paul in prison> this is a prison letter. 1:12  Even Paul was in prison. His attitude is very joyful 1:12-17  The word "joy" or "rejoice" is used 16 times in the book of Philippians in the New American Standard Version 1995 Updated. That's why the book of Philippians is know as the book of joy.  Apostle Paul exhorted the Church at Phillipi that their attitude should be like Christ. 2: 5 Christ- like attitude ang dapat nilang taglayin at ipamuhay palagi.
  6. 6. WHAT WE SHOULD LEARN ABOUT THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE OF APOSTLE OF PAUL EVEN HE IS IN THE MIDST OF UN CONFORTABLE/DIFFICULT SITUATION? ANO BA ANG DAPAT NATING MATUTUNAN PATUNGKUL SA PAG-UUGALI NG PAGPAPASALAMAT NI APOSTOL PABLO KAHIT NA SIYA AY NASA MAHIRAP NA KALAGAYAN?
  7. 7. I. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS REJOICING EVEN IN THE MIDST OF UNCOMFORTABLE/DIFFICULT SITUATION.V4 “?Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!” a. The demand > rejoicing in the Lord. b. The duration > Always no matter what happen. c. The decision > I will rejoice, it is our choice. Chose to rejoice brethren. d. The determination> I will say, rejoice even in pain and difficult situation Romans 5:3-4 New English Translation (NET) 3 Not only this, but we also rejoice in sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance, character, and character, hope.
  8. 8. Luke 10:20 (NIV) 20 However, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” Rejoice and be thankful your are a citizens of heaven.   9. 9. II. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS BEING PATIENT AND GENTLE TO OTHERS EVEN IN THE MIDST OF PRESSURE IN LIFE V. 5 “Let your gentle spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. “ “It can also refer to mercy toward the faults and failures of others. It can even refer to patience in someone who submits to injustice or mistreatment without retaliating.” John Macarthur Rom 12:17 AMP 17 Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone.
  10. 10. III. THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS RELIANCE TO GOD THROUGH PRAYER EVEN IN THE MIDST OF UNCERTAINTY. V. 6 “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” “Fret and worry indicate a lack of trust in God’s wisdom, sovereignty or power.”

THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS GUARDED AND PROTECTED BY THE PEACE OF GOD.V.7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Walang lugar sa puso ng isang tao ang paglulupay pay o ang panghihina kapag siya ay laging mapagpasalamat sa Diyos. Dahil Iniingatan ng Diyos ang kanyang isip sa maling kaisipan at ang kanyang puso sa maling ninanais nito.

THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS HAS A MIND FULL OF GODLY THOUGHTS V. 8 Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.
  14. 14. VI.THE ATTITUDE OF GRATITUDE IS ALWAYS PUTTING GOD’S WORD INTO PRACTICE WHATEVER CIRCUMSTANCES. RESULTING A PEACEABLE LIFE. V. 9 The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Great peace have they who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble. Psalm 119:165
