  2. 2. Our Mission<br />To host and attend events and activities of international character to promote the understanding and appreciation of multiculturalism and diversity in our community, in the United States, and around the world!<br />QUIC Members are Culturally Conscious <br />
  3. 3. SEPTEMBER EVENTS<br />CIC Celebrate! Week at Queens: Cultural celebrations in the Dining Hall each day during the week of Sept. 26th – 30th with authentic cuisine and decorations to celebrate the country/region of the day.<br />The Shades of Blue & Gold Talent Show: The finale of CIC Celebrate! Week, and a showcase of the diverse talents of Queens students!<br />
  4. 4. OCTOBER EVENTS<br />Diwali: The Indian Festival of Lights<br />Indian Cuisine in the Dining Hall with a performance by the Bella Faraasha Belly Dancing Club<br />A Henna Artist, Rangoli Designs, Traditional Indian Music, Décor and Desserts<br />
  5. 5. NOVEMBER EVENTS<br />Native American Heritage Month<br />Native American Storyteller/Performer<br />Bonfire with marshmallow roasting<br />Native American arrowhead craft<br />
  6. 6. DECEMBER EVENTS<br />Invisible Children Book Drive<br />Collecting unwanted, used books at the end of our semester for the QUIC philanthropy.<br />Sending the books to Better World Books to benefit the Invisible Children program in Uganda.<br />
  7. 7. JANUARY EVENTS<br />Chinese New Year<br />Chinese Lion/Dragon Dance<br />Chinese cuisine during lunch hour<br />Chinese New Year Decorations in the Dining Hall<br />

APRIL EVENTS<br />Intercultural Festival<br />Volunteer members/students create informational posters about their country of origin or a country of interest<br />Chartwells provides a food sampling of traditional food from that country<br />Cultural performances throughout the event set an intercultural atmosphere and guests enjoy the fun!<br />
  10. 10. SERVICE<br />“Not to be served, but to serve”<br />Shamrock Senior Center: Serving the international senior community of Charlotte<br />Sedgefield Elementary School: Queens-Sedgefield Partnership<br />Log all group volunteer hours with the CAC under QUIC affiliation!!<br />
