  1. 1. America in World War II UNIT PLAN DALTON GANDEE
  2. 2. Analyze the learner  General: 10th grade, 18 students (12 girls, 6 boys) 12 Caucasian, 4 African Americans, 2 Latino’s.  Learning Competencies: Students should have the basic background of World War II, and America’s part in the war.  Learning Styles: Most of my students are Visual learners, while the rest are auditory learns. (They will understand the concept.)
  3. 3. Objective  Students will analyze and explain American’s impact on World War II in Europe and in the Pacific. They will do this through maps, documents, videos, power points, and they will do a presentation about the war to show what they have learned with a 100 percent accuracy rate.
  4. 4. Day by day 1. America before the war, how they prepared for war, why they got into the war. I will do this with videos, and my presentations. 2. America goes to war with Germany and Italy. I will also talk about war tactics. I will show video’s and maps of Germany and Italy. 3. Pearl Harbor, why we went to war with Japan. I will show them video from pearl harbor, and documents for them to read to let them get the feeling. 4. Island hopping in the Pacific taking over Japan. A slide show and a videos. 5. The atomic bombs dropped on Japan. Documents from Japan, videos, and breaking up into small groups to discuss what they think about the bombs being dropped.
