  1. 1. How To Use Slideshare The general process applies to YouTube as well
  2. 2. Step1 <ul><li>Create an account on Slideshare </li></ul><ul><li>It’s free, but make sure not to ask for spam or other promotions </li></ul><ul><li>Generally, you only need an email address to create an account </li></ul>
  3. 3. Create a PowerPoint <ul><li>Microsoft PowerPoint is the standard in slide presentation software </li></ul><ul><li>I recommend - Impress by Sun Microsystems. It is free, and works on Windows, Apple and Linux. </li></ul><ul><li>Go to to download it! </li></ul>
  4. 4. Upload Your PowerPoint to Slideshare <ul><li>First – login with your username and password </li></ul><ul><li>Second – Click “Quick Upload” </li></ul>
  5. 5. <ul><li>Third – Browse for your powerpoint </li></ul>
  6. 6. <ul><li>Fourth – Put in settings for your slideshow </li></ul><ul><li>Title , Tags , Description , Category , and Privacy </li></ul>
  7. 7. <ul><li>Fifth – Your file is uploaded and converted to Flash </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>Sixth – Verify the presence of your converted slideshow. This can take some time depending on the size of your PPT </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>Seventh – Click to open your slideshow </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>Eighth – Highlight your Flash Object embedding tag and copy it with “Control+C” on the keyboard. </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>Ninth – Go into Blackboard and create a file or edit a file </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>Tenth – Click on enable HTML creator to activate the Java WYSYWIG editor </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>Eleventh – Click on Source View to see the HTML </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>Twelvth – Paste the Object/Embed code that you copied right after the <body> tag </li></ul>
  15. 15. <ul><li>Thirteenth – If you want your Flash slideshow to show up larger you will need to change the size settings in the tags. There are three size settings to change </li></ul>
