Council of Islamic Ideology is a
constitutional organization based
in Islamabad. Besides preserving
and promoting Islamic culture, it
has been giving advice to
government of Pakistan and
parliament on critical issues.
Lately some non government
organizations have criticized it for
discriminatory attitude and
treatment to women.
Throughout Pakistan, women
enjoy all basic freedoms and they
actively take part in business and
politics. Some universities like
International Islamic University
offer courses to women. We have
women chambers of commerce
and industry as well.
Asima Jahangir, renowned human
rights activist, demanded dissolution
of Council of Islamic Ideology. Daily
10 Minutes has been pinpointing
economic opportunities for 52%
women of Pakistan on the digital
media. Please carefully read Women
Watch on www.slideshare.net.
According to Dr. Bernard, our
problems have indigenous solutions.
Pakistani women should make mark
in businesses of trade, tourism and
technology. Council of Islamic
Ideology is not against CDKN,
Codepink and People for Ethical
Treatment of Animals (PETA). It must
appoint two female members instead
of one member.
