  1. 1. <ul><li>To The Technical Support Staff at RB Connect </li></ul><ul><li>This slide show was created for the support staff at RB Connect (NameAreCheap) to illustrate the problems I am having when trying to upload and install a back-up file from a old blog site on to a new blog site. </li></ul>

  7. 7. <ul><li>Logging in to the admin panel of of my new WordPress Blog hosted at RB Connect. </li></ul><ul><li>URL: http://www.detools.ca/ </li></ul>
  8. 8. <ul><li>At the “Manage” panel of the WordPress admin area. I’m about to try importing the backup file I exported from my old blog. </li></ul>
  9. 9. <ul><li>I click on the “Import” option. The Import menu appears. From the Import menu I choose the WordPress option. </li></ul>
  10. 10. <ul><li>The “Import WordPress” window appears. </li></ul><ul><li>I click on the “Browse” button to identify the WordPress export file, on my computer’s desktop that I want to import. </li></ul>
  11. 11. <ul><li>I highlight the WordPress export file on my computer’s desktop that I want to import and click, “Open”. </li></ul>
  12. 12. <ul><li>I’m now ready to begin the Import process so I click on the “Upload file and import” button </li></ul>
  13. 13. <ul><li>After a few seconds, the following error message appears. </li></ul>
  14. 14. <ul><li>I have created a folder inside the httpdocs folder of the www.detools.ca account called, “wordpress_export_file, were I have placed a copy of my export file, “wordpress.2008-09-18.xml”. That’s the back-up file from my old blog site that I want uploaded to my new blog. </li></ul>
  15. 15. <ul><li>I’m not sure what other information you require to solve this problem. </li></ul><ul><li>Thank you for your help. </li></ul>
