One very important factor is diet. Youshould eat a diet that is primarily plant based and one thatis low in process foods. Studies have shown that intake oftotal fat, saturated fat and meat are associated with anincreased risk of breast cancer. You should also stayaway from smoking or second hand smoke when possible.Exercise and maintaining a proper body weight are alsovery important in preventing breast cancer. A generaloverall healthy lifestyle is recommended. Since cancer is adisease that starts in our cells, everything we eat and areexposed to can affect them. Choose to be a non-smokerand avoid second-hand smoke. The link between anactive lifestyle and breast cancer prevention is as yetunclear but general health is improved when regularexercise is an integral part of a persons lifestyle. Justmake sure that you consult with your doctor prior tostarting an exercise or diet program.
