Cupcake Digital has made it a priority to provide apps in multiple languages starting with Spanish, translating text, narration, learning exercises and subtitled lyrics in the videos. The growing Hispanic market suggests a need for bilingual apps. This initiative was made very personal by Cupcake Digital executives Jennifer Powers and Carmen Hernandez’ desire to expose their young children to their native language in a more engaging format. This position paper provides an assessment of the need for bilingual apps and the educational value of Cupcake Digital’s Spanish language-enhanced story experiences.
