What Are Power Standards? <ul><li>Prioritized standards that are derived from a systematic and balanced approach to distinguishing which standards are absolutely essential and which ones are simply “nice to know” </li></ul><ul><li>A subset of the complete list of standards for each subject area and represent the “safety net” curriculum. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Power Standards Are: <ul><li>The standards that each teacher needs to make sure that every student learns prior to leaving the current course. </li></ul>
  6. 6. What 10.1 Means to You: <ul><li>Your course must be aligned to best in class text/standards for an average of 10 modules/lessons . </li></ul>
  7. 7. 10.2 Web 2.0 Technology
  8. 8. What is Web 2.0? <ul><li>A term used to describe the trend in the use of World Wide Web technology and web design that aims to enhance creativity, information sharing, and, most notably, collaboration among users. </li></ul>
  9. 9. Web 2.0 Tools Are: <ul><li>Proprietary: WIMBA Pronto, Classroom, Voice Tools; Learning LX Blogs, Wikis, Podcasting </li></ul><ul><li>Freeware: Vokis, ToonDoo, GoAnimate, Glogster, Animoto, etc. </li></ul>
  10. 10. What 10.2 Means to You: <ul><li>The web 2.0 tools that you use through us (proprietary) and that you import on your own (freeware) must be engaging for the 10/1 content. </li></ul>

What is Web 3.0? <ul><li>Web 3.0 has not been clearly defined by the Technical world, but its uses include: </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Constant Connectivity: Mobile devices, handheld games, Wii, etc </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>3D Environments: Second Life, Habbo Hotel, etc. </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Network computing : software as a service, “cloud” computing </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Simulations : PHET simulations </li></ul></ul>
  13. 13. What 10.3 Means to You: <ul><li>Whether it is a mobile app, poll everywhere assessment, and/or a PHET game you should be integrating towards Web 3.0 with design and practice. </li></ul>
