An Insight into the Paris Book Fair 2014
The yearly Salon du Livre is one of the topmost event in France held in Paris. It is the most awaited
event for passionate readers, book worms and industry professionals. The fair is a labyrinthine treasure
of the new literature and has something for everyone. Every year, one country is chosen and is honored
by giving special presence round the globe. The fair is an excellent place where quality literature and
cultural innovation are celebrated.
Book fair in Paris 2014 would celebrate the centenary of the birth of Julio Cortazar, an Argentine
writer. There is a delegation of around 30 writers who would represent mostly the current Argentine
literature. This year Paris book fair promises to reflect this multicultural and abundant nation on a
continental scale. The book fair will showcase the vitality as well as the diversity of the modern literary
production that is inventive, intense and at the same time poetic.
Salon du Livre Paris celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of Julio Cortazar. He is an iconic writer of
the Argentine literature during the second half of the 20 TH century. He has written the famous book
Marelle and lived in Paris for many years.
The book fair will be held at Porte de Versailles and would welcome a host of talented and brilliant
writers that would represent the rich and varied literature of Argentina. These include novelists, poets,
essayists, playwrights and strip cartoon screenwriters. A majority of these writers are actively involved
in cinema, press and contributors to the literary supplements of the prominent Argentinean newspapers.
Some of these writers are now well-known to the French readers as well as are considered as iconic
writers in the international literature. The main aim of these writers would be to present among the
public a better and clear picture of the world’s great literature.
