  2. 2. Tony Lovello, master accordionist, has returned to show business with a bang! TONY LOVELLO To the delight of audiences everywhere, Tony, a su- “The Liberace of the Accordion” perlative showman, has “un-retired” to share with ea- ger listeners the phenomenal talent with which he has ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ been blessed. Known as “The Liberace of the Accor- dion,” this dynamic entertainer generates excitement and delight through his dazzling musicianship and clever humor. His energy level surpasses that of a Tony’s program includes his own exclusive arrangements man less than half his age. Reaction to his thrilling of some of these signature pieces: performances is often a breathless “Wow!” Strangers in the Night Born December 17, 1932 in Buffalo, New York, Tony first became interested in the accordion at age 5 under the guidance of Anthony Lovullo, Sr., his accordi- Sway onist father. Young Tony quickly excelled, rapidly surpassing his father’s abil- ity, and was soon performing in public. When he was 12, his family moved to Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered Los Angeles, where he was discovered by Eddie Cantor, who suggested that Almost Like Being in Love the then-teenager change his last name from Lovullo to Lovello. An exciting and interesting career ensued: Tony toured not only with Eddie Cantor, but Through the Eyes of Love such other greats as George Jessel, Kate Smith, Jimmy Durante, Debbie Rey- [Theme from Ice Castles] nolds, Scatman Crothers, and Frank Sinatra. Dark Eyes While serving with the US Army during the Korean conflict, Tony made several performance tours to Korea and Alaska. After completing his military duty, he Malaguena resumed his stellar career: He performed in film and on television, most nota- bly on Arthur Godfrey’s hit show, then joined the legendary Three Suns [of Twilight Time — a Three Suns classic “Twilight Time” and “Peg ’O My Heart” fame], with whom he recorded and toured nationally for several years. Later he appeared on the hugely popular I Could Have Danced All Night TV show Hee Haw, which was produced by his brother Sam Lovullo. Italian Favorites Medley Tony also presented his own review in Las Vegas and Lake Tahoe, but de- Funiculi, Funicula/Vesti La Giubba/ cided to retire from show business after a serious illness caused permanent O Sole Mio/Nessun Dorma deafness in his left ear. Decades later, following his retirement from a 31-year Anema E Core/Arrivederci Roma detour into hotel management, he was strongly encouraged and ultimately per- suaded by family and friends to resume his interrupted musical career. Innamorata Since returning to the stage in 2000 Tony hasn’t stopped performing – much to Can’t Help Falling in Love with You (Elvis Presley) the delight of his enthusiastic fans! He has recorded 12 CD’s, performed over 200 concerts, arranged hundreds of songs (including some beautiful originals), Spanish Eyes given dozens of seminars, received five Lifetime Achievement Awards, and been proclaimed “King and Master of the Bellow Shake” by the late great Galla- Phantom of the Opera/Jekyll & Hyde Medley Rini.
